If you throw enough money at anything it can be tuneable! lol You can get more from the 2l turbo without much work, but im not a fan of the turbo power delivery, the SC conversion on mine feels pretty OEM, apart from the whine, and the sheer speed it hauls you down the road.

Hell yes. Mine has 240hp, and weighs around 850kg, so its pretty ballistic. Not that iv conducted any FF style traffic like GP's, but its night and day different. But its not as comfy

Totally different from a driving perspective Bradders, but its epic. Even the long drive from Shrewsbury to MK was not too bad once id got my coat on. Never thought id be happy to see gridlock on a motorway!

Cheers Dan, iv got some new tyres going on this week hopefully, and id like to get under the car and have a look at what im dealing with, as id like to make the car look mint, as well as drive well, though saying that, i did promise the wife I wouldnt spend loads of money on it! lol Its on 16/17" Compomotive wheels, with some slightly illegal R888 tyres. Il hopefully get it back down to Courtenay Sport towards the end of the summer season, and get them to RR it again, and see what sort of power its putting out, and to makesure everything is healthy. Between bends its incredible, I just need to learn how incredible it is around bends too! Original advert is http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/topic/136720-supercharged-vx220-for-sale/

    VX220

Well on Friday I picked up my VX220, in resale silver, and drove from RAF Cosford to Shrewsbury, and then drove home to Milton Keynes this morning. However, it happens to be fitted with a stage 2 supercharger conversion, and developes around 240hp. First impressions are how solid the tub feels, but has Nitron suspension fitted, and flows pretty well down most roads, as the seller demonstrated when he took me down some horrible pot holed roads when he took me out in it. Brakes take some getting used to. Its running 4pot AP callipers, with carbon pads at the front. Trying not to mention the speed too much, as it probably goes without saying that its rapid, but it is rapid! Sounds like an ME109 coming in for attack when the throttle is pinned! Its not the most pristine body wise, but I can work on that myself, and I know a good body shop for spraying. Its got R888's fitted at the moment, but they are now below legal limit, as the previous owner put it through an MOT for me, and we agreed to go halves on the tyres, so that worked out well. Went for Federal 595 RSR's, as they seem to be the tyre of choice unless going for 888 and the huge price hike that comes with them. Though im guessing its the same with MPSS's etc, which seem to transform a car. Il get some pictures up when the car is clean, as its covered in dust and mud after we stayed in a big cottage place in Shrewsbury with a mile long dirt track as the only access. The Zed is staying for the time being, as id like to get that to a nice standard this year, and maybe sell it next year, but we shall see
  8. Yeah, i stayed well clear of the kerb after that, and took a different line!
  9. Carbon copy of what happened to me a year or so ago, but i used too much kerb on the entrance to the corner, and I felt it going, and thought I had it, then it snapped back the other way and spat into the infield area facing where I came from. Luckily it spat you that side of the track, and not torwards the pits, like it did a fellow member a few years back in their ginger zed.
  10. I still cant believe Marko has not murdered one of the Renault mechanics yet! What a total joke. No perfomance upgrade, and worse driveability. Well done to Mercedes, again, for doing a top job, they have stretched their lead again, and dont really look like they will be caught by anyone. Nice to see Seb doing well in the red outfit, he looks really happy.

    GT spec braces

As I mentioned, they are just welded bits of metal - I personally think they are all the same GTSpec ones are the most expensive, thus people assume the 'best', I wouldn't worry mate, no reports of them exploding. Lol,thats good to know! I love the colour of the them, was thinking before i got them id get them powder coated red, but tempted to keep them as is now iv seen them

Alex, any idea how i can get hold of the midpoint one?

    GT spec braces

Cheers Rob,will look into that. Are the GT Spec ones not as good as the Summit racing ones Dan?

Got a link to your impact wrench and sockets at all Rob?

    GT spec braces

Yeah i see what you mean, less twisting load through the head of the bolt, more shock and hopefully release! Lol I really enjoy playing with my car, so i may have a stab at it myself, i managed to fit my own exhaust and ARB's, so im not a complete novice. And that way i can see if they have made a difference or not.
  17. Worth pointing out, that the car shown is a facelift, but you will be getting pre facelift, just to avoid confusion.

    GT spec braces

Cheers Rob, iv got some GT85, that il be soaking the nuts and bolts in. Wouldnt mind the big midpoint brace too, but I gather that is quite expensive, and im not sure who sells it, though I see Clark Motorsport are selling the Summit racing ones, so maybe thats an option. I usually use my rachets with my extendable wheel brace attached, as that tends to provide enough leverage, plus, iv has my geo done last year at Kaiser, and im booked in to see him in a few weeks, so I may just ask if he can fit them, as it would be easier up on ramps, rather than on axle stands, plus he was going to do a geo set up and brake bleed for me.

    GT spec braces

Also, there were no bolts supplied, does this mean i can reuse my original bolts and nuts etc?
  20. Has anyone got any of these fitted? Iv got the 3 that were being sold by Pritchard, the 2 rear lower ones, and the front lower one. Just wondering how long these should take to fit, given that probably a few bolts are solid etc. Also, do I need to get a geo set up again after they are fitted? One last question, are these actually any good, compared to something like the Summit Racing braces?
  21. Looking good! Surely you want the engine as far back in the chassis as possible?
  22. Where are you based? Im sure a club member would be happy to come and have a look for you and tell you want actually needs doing? Failing that, there are various Zed specialist garages around that could help you out
  23. I could be up for the one in August, as we have our factory shut down then, so would not need to worry about work.
