  1. Iv not driven the Zed for nearly 3 months, but it seems a little quieter to me after the non resonated Scorpion I had fitted before, plus the rasp from the HFC's has gone now. Im running Miester R Zeta S coilovers, with adjustable rear camber arms and toe bolts. Superpro Bannana arms bushes too. Though im wondering if i need to change to adjustable drop links, as only running standard ones at the moment.
  2. Did you go full kit all over? Did you change them becuase the others were worn, or just because you hoped they'd feel better? Nice vid Robboí ½í±. @ Stu; the front bushes are the ones that commonly fail but all OEM rubber bushes fail to various degrees over time. Shrinking, perishing/cracking, tearing and full blown separation are all degrees of bushing failure. Therefore depending on the degree of failure you may get minimal symptoms or knocking to outright diabolical handling! If you consider that most zeds are over 10yrs old there are a lot out there that would benefit with bushing changes. There is nothing wrong with the OEM bushes except they are to soft and allow excessive mov't which dulls handing and eventually they will fail again bring made of rubber. Secondly the compression arm design was poor which leads to premature compresion bush failure. This issues was addressed by Nissan on the HR and 370z I think. Urethane is better but as the vid shows you need to get well designed ones. I have used Superpro, whiteline and energy suspension. Superpro are up there, whiteline a close second and energy suspension third because some of their bushes are poorly designed. However if you swap those bushes for superpro or whiteline equivalent as I have done for the 2 chaps here you end up with a competent package and some significant savings. Monoball/spherical/rose jointed bushes are the ultimate because there is no bind or stiction and there supension geometry is always maintained optimally as there is no unwanted mov't. However they don't last forever as they are prone to salt corrosion and they are impractical for daily driving. I have been lucky to have been able to swap to full urethane bushes in the past and again to solid monoball bushes which are currently on the car. I have also done the full urethane swap for 2 members here. So I can attest to the fact that every single bush showed significant wear. One thing is for certain the handling is night and day and if you have other suspension mods like ARB, coilovers and adjustable arms it further enhances them. I will be offering a drive in bushing replacement and general suspension service soon and there will be various packages to suit all budgets and usage but in anycase priced very competitively. What is the rough cost of replacing all the bushes? I already have Powerflex banana arm bushes fitted. Just curious as to what sort of money you were looking at charging for a full replacement.
  3. Great to see the mods are back in full swing! Was there any reason for choosing BC over the offering from Miester R? I have them fitted on mine, not the 'true' coilover, the Zeta S i believe, and curious on what the difference is, as it took me ages to decide. In the end, Miester R doing finance sold it to me. Also, how low do you have to go before you need adjustable drop links? I have it lowered around 20mm, and have Eibach adjustable ARB's,but have never replaced the drop links on the rear, and just run the tougher spec standard jobs on the front.
  4. So Mark, can you get some of the benefits of the Up-Rev just by getting a throttle controller? Obviously you wont get the otimisation to previous mods like you would with an Up-Rev, but if your saying the throttle response is lazy in the first 3 gears, does the throttle controller not get around that? When I first came to the site, throttle controllers were all the rage, though now they seem to be few and far between.
  5. To be honest the supplied method of holding the tips on is very good, i just obviously didnt ho FT on the torque setting! Next time il makesure they are clamped up fully. Love the noise it makes though, and the pops and crackles if you come off the gas from the limiter.
  6. Thank GM, spent a long time polishing them up and making them look almost perfect, cant believe it lasted a mile! lol
  7. Funnily enough i was wondering the same! Still atleast it wasnt the whole exhaust, and it does sound amazing. When i got on my drive i took it to high up the rev range and backed off,the crackles and pops sound stunning. Still happy with it.
  8. Cheers Dan, lol, i did it was tight as i could without going to FT, and both were done with the same amount of effort. Didnt want to use a breaker bar, but used a 3/8 drive with socket. Should feel lucky that it didnt cause an accident really, and that the only damage is to a piece of metal, all be it an expensive one!
  9. Well iv spent the week fitting my Invidia exhaust on my drive way, and spent around 5 hours or so polishing the back box, but mainly the tips, as they were a burnt finish, and i wanted polished, plus they were a rather mucky inside. You will see the photo's at the end. Mega chuffed that id got it all fitted up, and mega excited about getting to try out the new exhaust and drive the Z for the first time in 2 months. Really enjoyed the 30minute drive, and when i got home wanted to check everything was alright. To my horror, one of the tips was missing! After going to sit down for 5 minutes, i thought id retrace my route and see if it was at the side of the road. Got less than a mile away i spotted it in the central grass verge, and overjoyed, found a safe place to pull over and go pick it up. Though i really shouldnt have bothered. Looks like its scrap to me, though il go and see if the fab shop at work can do anything with it. Luckily, Tarmac is hopefully sending me a spare set he has in the next couple of days, do all is not lost, just really infuriated that iv now got only one good tip. I did them both up pretty tight with a 3/8 drive, and even when i got the run away tip home, i couldnt move the clamp on the tip, so it was on pretty tight. No idea what else i could have done really, as didnt want to over tighten the clamps and bugger them up. Anyway, photos for you all to see.
  10. Yeah i thought the polished tip looked better, so went ahead and polished up the other burnt one. Didnt get a chance to fit it though. Tomorrow i should finally be able to get the car off the stands and fire it up. Sorry i didnt do the bumper tuck, but already up against it time wise, mainly due to my OCD polishing taking up time that should have been spent bolting it all up. Cheers Alive boy, but its filthy, have not driven it for 6 weeks or so, so hoping the weather is reasonable tomorrow morning for a blast.
  11. Well its all bolted up, and im sorry to say im not trying the bumper tuck. Looked at some photo's last night, and was not a fan im afraid. My next thought is whether to go with burnt tips or polished. Im going to have to polish the other burnt tip anyway, as its scuffed quite abit, but can easily reburn it. Sorry the car is still jacked up, but here are some photos.
  12. Il have a look at it again tomorrow. If i do it, id like to do it properly, not just with cable ties, but suppose i could just do it for effect and see what it looks like. Should have everything finished tomorrow and be able to take it for a test run.
  13. Sorry guys, finished late today, everything is bolted up, just need to tighten some of the bolts up and then drop the car back on the deck and fire her up. Drove around for an hour this morning trying to find some fresh gaskets, failed, so fitted the old ones supplied by Ian, just hope they are good enough for the job. Did some more polishing too, and last night manged to polish out one of the blue flame tips, so other one tonight.
  14. I could do it with cable tie's and then cut them if i dont like it. Providing i can get some gaskets tomorrow morning, i should have it fitted tomorrow
  15. Il have a look again tonorrow and go from there. Spend some time this evening polishing up the tailpipes
  16. Cheers for that, i cant decide if i like it or not, though feel with the Invidia i should have it to show the back box off!
  17. Fitting my Invidia exhaust this morning, bought from Ian, and when looking at possibly doing a bunper tuck, saw these holes above the white plastic mount. Has soneone already done a bumper tuck and just reverted back to normal, or are these standard from the factory? Also, anyone know how to get the plastic mounts removed, as undid the screw and i suspect there is an insert that expands when you screw into it
  18. Yeah sure, hope to change it over at some point in the next week or so, so aslong as you are not in a mega rush il let you know when its off.
  19. LOL, give me stuff to make and build, thats fine, things to do with electronics is a black art to me im afraid.
  20. I will have a Stillen Y pipe and Scorpion non resonated exhaust up for grabs soon
  21. Looks great. Interested in that spoiler, i know its an ebay job, but is the fit good?
