  1. Gents, with wanting/needing to wash the car, and the fact it appears to have been raining most of the day in south MK, are we better to pull the plug on tonight, and wait a few weeks for the weather to improve, and warm up?
  2. I can actually do this, will be my first meet in ages. Can someone drop me a PM nearer the time, so I dont forget please?
  3. To be honest i dont really want to split them up, but i guess if i had a buyer for all 3, then its something id consider.
  4. Got a trio of GT Spec braces for sale. These are brand new and never fitted, only removed from the packaging for looking. Had every intention of fitting these, as they get great reviews, but due to another car in my life now, development of the Zed has long since ceased. They are front lower tie bar, and both rear lower tie bars. Love the colour of these. £250 +p+p or collection from Milton Keynes. Any questions please ask.
  5. Sorry to hear the BBC have cut it completely, but has been on the cards for a few months now. Atleast C4 have said that they will not be showing adverts. Makes no difference to me, as iv got Sky, but it needs to be on free to view channels. Hoping this year will see a marked improvement from Renault regarding their engine and developement. Got a feeling that Ferrari will be closer to Merc next season, hopefully Seb can put in a decent bid for the tittle.

Certainly looking forward to getting it back on the road thats for sure. Driving anything else is not the same. Hoping that all the extra work that has/will go into it, along with the money spent will make it worth it. Got a 1" ARB coming shortly too, so the whole car will be fighting fit, if its back together. lol

Sorry its only a link, but it would take ages to copy every post etc over, and il try to remember to update here, along with the thread on .org. Basically its charting my history of owning my VX220, and something I really regret not starting for the 350Z,which I still have (Just) Its caused many headaches, and lots of swearing, and some cash as well. But hopefully it will all be worth it by the time March comes, which is my self imposed deadline for getting the car back on the road. This winter will just be a mild refresh of the suspension and a few other bits. Hopefully next winter will see the engine out, and various bits refurbished/replaced, and tidied up. Here you go then, hope you like reading. lol http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/topic/139909-daryls-plastic-box-of-joy/
  8. Beautiful looking car. Sorry to hear about your dad. But congratulations on the 2nd baby. I cant see anywhere if the car is a manual or auto, and there are no pictures showing that part of the interior.
  9. Wheels look almost like the Rays, but in 19", i think thats why they look so good.
  10. 2nd that. I have a VX220, and it is not really a daily driver, though lots of people on the forum do, its a pig to get in and out with the roof on, and i wouldnt want to drive on with cold, wet, salty roads. Fantastic car though.
  11. To be honest, i was not convinced by it all, even up to when we took a drive waiting for the money to show in the account. However, his brother, who's wife owned the car, turned up, and we sat chatting about cars and life in their house for an hour or so. Iv been proved wrong, and im very happy about that, as to be out of pocket by that amount would not have been fun for the wife. The car looks fantastic on the road, and my wife is mega pleased with it. I did get told off for not trusting the guy, as she said she would have just transfered all the cash in one hit, and we could have been home by 4pm at the latest, and not 7.30 like we actually were, but she also said it was good to be cautious, so iv no idea if im in trouble or not! lol
  12. Well im pleased to say that yesterday we picked it, and although we were up there for nearly 4 hours, the car is now officially my wifes, and she loves it. We transfered the balance of the money on the way up to Coventry, as we thought it would be easier. We called the bank (Nationwide), after half an hour of being up there, and they said the money had left my wife's account, and it should show in the other account shortly, that was at around 3pm. At 5.30pm, she called the bank again, and they said that it had been held up by the fraud department, and they wanted to clarify that she had made the transfer, and that she could see the car etc. Why on earth this didnt happen at 3pm, when we originally called her, we have no idea. Anyway, the car is home now, and the wife loves it.
  13. Did my garage in August. Used floor paint from some place in Basildon that came through someone at work a while back. Floor is concrete, and it took ages to dry properly. I also had somee industrial floor matting from work, that i thought twice about not fitting. But glad i did, as its so much better, the garage is warmer, and alot better for crawling around under the car etc. Id look at getting some if i were you, as you would be amazed at the difference it makes. Or maybe even some lino from somewhere, just something to make life abit easier.
  14. Yeah the wife said a similar thing, but its alot of money, and i dont want her getting any hassle with it. It just seemed an odd set of circumstances thats all.
  15. Going to do a money transfer at the residence house if we can, so we can have another snoop around the car and makesure everything is as it should be. When we pick it up, the owner will be present, so we will check to see if everything tallies up. We have checked him out online, and he seems genuine, so fingers crossed it is just a strange series of events, but we are going in with our eyes wide open.
  16. Finance is clear, we have an email direct from VW uk finance, 5minutes from where we live, stating they have no interest in the car etc. We have FB stalked the seller now we have his name, and everything seems to check out. We have a photo of the VIN plate that ties up with the V5. Still proceeding with Caution, but we are proceeding. He works for Barclays bank
  17. Well if the finance final statement does not come back, then the deal is dead. This guy is hanging on by the seat of his pants as far as im concerned. Yes, id like to meet and greet the actual owner prior to the collect without a doubt. Money obviously is not an issue to this family, but it does seem to smell abit fishy to me, as iv said, i dont trust him.
  18. I also forgot to check that the V5 VIN number matches the VIN number on the car.
  19. To be honest, I dont trust him, and iv said this to the wife, but she says im just being silly. However, the tail seems a little long to me. Its a decent, rare car, with 3 owners, and it could well be legit, the wife also loves it, and im trying to calm her down, but she seems hell bent on it. We have sorted a price on it, got some cost off for new tyres and refurb of the wheels.
  20. I forgot to add that she has recently got married, and has not changed her name on the log book, or any documents....
