  1. Forgot to post this earlier Pimm, but I drove past your Zed while it was parked outside perfect pizza last Saturday. I was going to give you a toot but couldn't see you when I peered in!
  2. K1's proving a bit too loud then is it? Sounded good in Morrison's car park
  3. Considering a new Boxster S cost £10k more than a new Zed would I would hope its a much better car. But then for another £10k more you could get a GT-R which is arguably a better car than Boxster S
  4. This might be stating the obvious, but it's not the TCS kicking in?
  5. Quick question - would you need to declare a new panel filter to your insurance company?
  6. It's not very nice to laugh at others' misfortune. I mean, the poor guy needs a new engine and you're laughing. Where's the love My Bose CD player started skipping and I had to had to buy a new gearbox to fix that. Now my gearbox crunches so I'm saving for some wheel spacers. I think it all started when I fitted the stubby... It always starts with the stubby!
  7. Revenge is a dish best served........with a size 11 boot. Well doen Alpha man, now make sure you pursue him to fix your door using the proper legal channels!
  8. It means your engine temprature sensor is failing and you need a new engine. Either that or the temperature sensor is located somewhere which doesn't enjoy the warmth of direct sunlight. But you probably need a new engine.
  9. I used to own a Curpra R, cracking motor. The VAG 1.8 pretty well bullet proof if well looked after. Watch our for the smaller radiator fan failing (check it is spinning when engine idle) and the doors seals are **** poor (check for wet carpets). Also needs cambelt change every 60k miles and the OEM water pumps can be prone to failure. Basically take it for a good blast and check it doesn't overheat. Good luck with the hunt
  10. This question has been asked about a million times!! Anyway in truth there isn't a massive difference between the different engines from everything I've read. The original 276bhp engine has the most tuning options but the later 309bhp is the best one out of the box. As with any new car purchse just get the best one you can for your budget, you won't be disappointed. Any UKs registered (or JDMs imported) after March 2006 are over £400 per year for road tax and any before that fall into the 200 odd quid band. Although in truth these are thirsty cars and the difference in road tax is less than 3 tanks of fuel a year so not worth losing too much sleep about IMO.
  11. I guess would work in theory but as Husky says you wouldn't be able to drive anywhere when it was damp.
  12. How many horse power do the flames add?
  13. Feel for you mate but don't lose your rag. Worst case scenario you've got enough evidence to a claim on his insurance. If you point this out to him hopefully he will see sense and pay for any damage to be sorted and be more careful in future. If not I'm sure any of the keyboard warriors on here will help you pour paint stripper on his Punto.
  14. Slightly better plastic interior (better feel to it, but nothing drastic like a sudden german car interior worthy of the extra cash) and a few changes to the button layouts. Has LEDs as well (which can be brought separately from ZManAlex on here). I have the older model and the interior is slightly different, yet I totally changed it using carbon parts inside. The 313 BHP model also has a bulge in the bonnet rather than a slight indent. I prefer the older looking bonnet (looks more sporty than muscle car like the newest version). All the questions have been asked before - try searching the FAQs section. No, the 06 also has the facelift and upgraded interior, lights etc. The only cosmetic difference between a MY06 and a MY07 is the bonnet bulge.
  15. The Zed is not a great car for stop/start driving and/or bad weather conditions. But then again what powerful rear wheel drive sports car is? A hot hatch (like a Type R) is a compromise between performance and practicality. A Zed is for someone who just wants an out and out sports car (which is also a good motorway cruiser ). You just need to decide what's more important to you.
  16. Nice to meet everyone today, great turn out guys Just to help put usernames to faces (and I am admittedly terrible with names), thought I would post up that I was Joel, with the Black Coupe, left rear in photos, and was wearing a dark red v neck jumper!!
  17. I got 452's all round a couple of weeks ago from mytyres
  18. Build quality is top notch, there are very few posts on here about defects due to low quality componnets used. The only thing that's cr@p is the bose, but I really couldn't care less TBH. I have an 06 and I love the simplicity of the interior, it suits a no nonsense sports car like the Zed. It has everything you need in a functional environment, and doesn't waste time on anything which is purely for style purposes.
  19. Wow, I'll be watching this with great interest. Do you reckon you'd get much for your old engine? Would help offset quite a bit of the cost.
  20. That car is a 276 version, even if it was registered in 2006.
  21. Hello from a member in Redland, just around the corner from you!
  22. ...which is an Audi TT with 265bhp, 85 less than the Nismo. I want to like it a lot, but it's a sad day when the ultimate 370Z is barely quicker than a regular 2006 350Z with 50bhp less: 2006 350Z Track ... 3:12.50 2009 370Z Nismo ... 3:12.00 2009 Audi TTS ...... 3:08.40 Oh yeah , I was thinking TTRS
