  1. There's quite a good description on the engine changes on this site: http://www.worldcarfans.com/10512058208 ... issan-350z "The changes have brought about a slight reduction in peak torque, which has fallen from 363Nm to 353Nm at 4,800rpm. However the revised torque curve is far flatter than before and provides greater torque reserves at higher rpm. Torque delivery in the original 350Z fell off comparatively steeply once that 4,800rpm peak had been reached. In the latest evolution the torque curve remains more linear as engine speeds rise: at 6,000rpm, for example, the new engine delivers a full 20Nm more torque than its predecessor could achieve."
  2. It is quite diifficult to change smoothly between first and second sometimes (can result in some kangarooing if you're not used to it), but I've never had the revs dipping in the way you mention.
  3. I went on the Palmersport Day in September as a freebie through work. Such an awesome day, the single seaters in particular were just fantastic. Really got a feel for what it must be like ot be an F1 driver!
  4. I love these, and think they would be a huge succes for Lotus if thy weren't so overpriced.
  5. Fifth Gear was no Top Gear, but I shall still miss it. There aren't enough decent motoring shows on TV IMO. At least on Fifth Gear they made a bit of effort to review cars people might actually buy. Plus Tiff, Jason and Vicky actually know how to drive rather than dragging cars along a runway shouting 'POWER!'. Top Gear is all about fun and exotica, Fifth Gear was a proper motoring show. RIP
  6. Sorry to hear about this mate - from somebody who was rear ended yesterday! Mine doesn't sound anywhere near as serious as yours. Hope it gets sorted quickly and painlessly. I agree with the comments about people not understanding roundabouts. I could easily have had another prang this morning when someone to my right pulled out when I was going straight over a mini roundabout. I say pulled out, but she didn't even slow down and look, she just carried on. Makes me really angry, people like that push insurance premiums for the rest of us. I genuinely believe the driving test should be much harder. It would help cut down on the amount of idiots on the road. People need to realsie that driving is a privilege, not a right! Rant over
  7. Just resurrecting this thread as I thnk I have the unluckiest Zed in the world! This morning, while waiting to pull out of a junction somene drove int o the back of me. Only minor bumper damage but still bloody frustrating. Why can't people learn to drive properly. In fairness she was very apologetic and it shouldn't cost me anything to fix but its still going to be a massive hassle.
  8. In all seriousness that really does work for me
  9. Congratulations buddy! What colour/spec did you go for?
  10. Just a stubby for me, should be at the top of your shopping list!
  11. Just come in from washing mine and god damn she looks good. You just can't beat black and shiny. Sorry to burst your bubble everyone.
  12. That Zed sounds awesome. I wish mine sounded like that. Oh and I would marry that woman in a heart beat. Just don't tell my girlfriend.
  13. Wow, that's a bargain for someone. If I was in the market I'd bite your arm off! Good luck with the sale.
  14. ... thats deserves a donation i think! So do I, and I'm post facelift, so £405. Quit your moaning
  15. No, that was for the 07 model. 06 has standard bonnet.
  16. My Aunt had one of these many years ago, I never went out in it but always admired from afar.
  17. I was up there yesterday for a track day and spotted a Zed just like mine parked in one of the other guest car parks. If it was anyone on here how did you get on? I had a freaking awesome day!
  18. I bought my Zed from these guys. It was a mixed experience. The first guy I dealt with (Sean I think) was pretty helpful and was pretty accomodating on tidying up a few bits and pieces on the car which was done. I did take the risk and put down the deposit without test driving on the promise of a full one on pick day and a full refund if anything wasn't right. I ws a bit hsitant about this, but in fariness the car was completely blocked in and would have taken ages to get out and they were very busy that day. When I went to pick up I dealt with Steve. Didn't like him one bit. He tried to wriggle out of letting me test drive it, but I insisted so he relented in the end. When I got back and said it was fine he was pretty much 'I told you so'. He was pretty discourteous through the whole process, treating me like an annoyance rather than a valued customer. Also, after I had paid, he told me that there is no manual with the car, because he'd given it to someone else who'd picked up their 350 that week. At that point I was too excited about driving home to kick up a fuss but in hindsight I wish I had. Overall I'm glad I bought the car, it hasn't missed a beat and I think I got a good price. I'm not sure I would deal with these guys again though, purely from my experience when picking the car up. To be honest if I was the owner and reading this thread I would sack Steve on the spot, he seems to be the main problem.
  19. UNLUCKY!!!! No hard feelings? No hard feelings at all, I ended up getting a facelift 06 in a better colour anyway
  20. You didn't buy this from Wessex Nissan in Bristol by any chance did you. I was looking at an 04 plate blue Azure down there about 6 months ago, was supposed to go for a test drive but they lost the bloody keys!!
