  1. Well, just take out spare wheel and passenger seat...should help, but weight isn't really what I am getting at. I am more interested in the noise and torque
  2. I haven't even considered selling my old engine to be honest, I just had some money to blow on upgrading and had this sudden urge to explore this route
  3. But you can easily get much more power from these engines and there is also enough room for a blower if you ever want to take it to the next level
  4. My friend has an RX7 and we were going to make an FD LS1 conversion, but now I have seen it in a zed..... I am hoping it's going to be below the £10k mark, but not sure whether I need to uprate other components, might give zedmanalex a call to see what his thoughts are.
  5. I have been recommended 2 specialist fitters for LS1/2/etc work by driftworks members and also been recommended Abbey motorsports by somebody else, so will get some quotes over the weekend from them. Does R35LEE visit this forum often? Worth sending him a PM?
  6. Hi all, Does anyone have any info or experience on the following? I am considering sticking a V8 of some form into a zed and just wanted to gather your thoughts on it and what exactly needs to be budgeted for/upgraded to handle the engine? The car would be for road use (daily driver), shows, meets and possibly the odd santa pod or track day. I think the LS1/2 engine swap would suit these uses fine, as they are built to be reliable, servicing surely can't be that much more expensive and nor would running costs (with the exception of insurance). So far, I have the following info....which is enough to make most men get excited? LS2 engine swap into zed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1ogVIvMocQ LS1 engine swap into zed: http://www.britishamericanengines.co.uk ... efault.asp I am guessing that with the above engine package, I would need to budget for upgrading the flywheel/clutch combo, probably upgrade the suspension to handle the extra weight? Gearbox? Also, the specialist fitting time/labour for this. ......could get expensive, so want to just get an opinion on what work/parts would be required. I've been reading Nurrish's supercharger thread with great interest, but I have my heart set on a V8... Cheers
