  1. No snow down in Bristol plus as an added bonus the Zed doesn't have a face only a mother could love.
  2. If it worries you that much just buy an MY06
  3. Probably more to do with the temperature dropping dramatically over the last few days. That will have a noticeable effect on fuel consumption.
  4. Evo or Car. TG is poor by comparison.
  5. Scary stuff, but at least you are in one piece mate. Good luck with the hunt for a new Zed, just try and get a decent colour this time.
  6. there isnt really much detail to give to be honest. lost the back end in the wet, driving no faster than i normally would on a road i have driven a thousand times before. i had to avoid traffic coming the other way after the back end went and therefore ended up going backwards off the road into a sign post. this is the reason i have been off the forum so much lately, been too depressing to come on here. things are looking better now though, and i have college work to do, so here i am So what do you think caused you to lose the back end? I hope that doesn't sound like a cynical question, just genuinely interested to know what happened.
  7. Bloody hell, how did I miss both of those threads!?! That is genuinely gutting, feel for you. What happended though? It must be in those threads somewhere but couldn't see a full explanation of what happened?
  8. I would add that the problems people have with their Zeds are pretty minor and cheap to fix compared to reading about Chesterfields problems with his Jag. I can't ever remember reading a post about a Zed on the back of a tow truck during my couple of years on here....
  9. Yeah, plus I dropped it down to toilet on Friday, but it still works! Amazing phone.
  10. Is it just transmission clatter? Pretty common when changing gear at low speeds. Plus the gear change does take a while to get used to, I was bunny hopping like a learning when I first got my Zed!
  11. I downloaded this app for my HTC at the weekend. It's supposed to measure the acceleration using GPS and convert that into a power figure somehow. I went to Cardiff yesterday to go karting with my brother, so the Severn bridge toll was the perfect opportunity to test it..... Apparently my car has 726 bhp at the crank and 603 bhp at the wheels. Seeing as its 296 bhp stock I would say my Scorpion exhaust was worth every penny!
  12. Agree with Sarnie. I'm pretty sure I remember reading about some legislation that states any car sold in the UK must be able to run properly on 95 RON fuel. If running on 95 fuel knackered the engine I'm sure there would be plenty of horror stories out there by now. I always run mine on super, but where none is available I won't sweat about using 95 and can't say I've ever noticed any difference.
  13. Sounds like his car will be looking reverse-sparkles before too long. Maybe buy him some new cleaning products for Xmas
  14. Is the mini significantly better on fuel? Are you covering a lot of miles? Life is for living my friend and if you're a keen motorist and not enjoying your your current ride get it changed ASAP!
  15. I've just got an HTC Desire on Vodafone and am very impressed having previously been both a Nokia and Sony Ericksson boy. Phone was fee on a £30p/m contract, which inlcues 300 free minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of interent. There's loads of free apps you can download, some of the games are pretty addictive! Plus it syncs with your Facebook so when a contact rings you it bring up theiur profile picture and also imports their other contact details. I'm sure all smart phones do this but I was impressed! The only not so good thing is battery life but it comfortably last the day with around 1/3 left so usually put on charge overnight.
  16. Get OFCOM on there ass. Might do the trick.
  17. Interesting to read your views on the 911 vs the 350z. As I suspected in a different league!! I've always quite fancied a 911, but found it hard to justify the leap in cost when to my mind the Zed is perhaps 8/10 compared to a 911. An extra £30k+ for the final 2/10 is a lot, but I'm sure you'd disagree!!
  18. This could be quite significant. With Webber's engine running hot in Brazil, and no spare engines, just making it to the end of the race in Abu Dabi could be quite a big ask for him.
  19. So have you even thought about the Zed once since you picked up the porker? How does it compare?
  20. I hope this doesn't sound harsh mate but I don't think you should even be considering buying a house at the moment, getting yourself up to your eyeballs in debt just so you can get a toe on the housing ladder is not a great idea. Plus house prices are sliding again and may have further to go. You'd gutted if you bought a house today and in a years time it was worth 10% less. If I were you I'd do it the old fashioned way and live somewhere that you can comfortably afford to rent and get saving! That's what I've done for the last 3 years and now have a deposit ready to go when I'm want to buy. Although at the moment I choose not to buy because I'm waiting for prices to drop further. Renting is no more wasting money than paying interest on a mortgage. Remember when you first take out a mortgage probably 75-80% of each payment will just be paying off interest.
  21. I also bought my car from S2K4U. Sh!t garage, but not all the cars they sell are sh!t. They don't seem to have a clue about pricing vehicles either, seeing as I bought my MY06 from them for £14k last April!
  22. Finding a MY06 on cheaper tax will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The extra £200 in the context of the overall running costs of the car is not a lot really.
