marzman Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Great idea for a thread. Im a couple of months away from moving house to a place with a double garage. I've got big plans for it. For now i've just got my single garage, which has never had a car in it but i spend a lot of time there... 3 Quote

Here I am - ZedShed Before - During refurb After Trouble is I have got more tools and have a problem finding a space due to other Zed's See what I mean Even parking is an issue at times But Tomorrow is D day for planning - unless they go for an extension Fingers crossed I will soon have a new and improved ZedShed II 7 Quote
leonk Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Reluctant to post pics incase certain members give me a ribbing for not spending enough time in there recently! 2 Quote
AliveBoy Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 Maybe a silly question, but have you ever kept your spanners in a tool chest? Currently I have a draw of spanners which move around a lot, so racking them like this seems like a good idea Quote
Keyser Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 ^^^^ That was half way through mate that whole board is full - Yes used drawers still have at least 3 draws full of spanners as well Like that they are easy to find and when you finish a job you can see at a glance if any tools are missing. Each to their own though whatever works for you Quote
AliveBoy Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 Yeah, it looks smart and practical. I also need to move my tool chest as it's right at the back and as I can't get the car in it's a right pain to walk in and out the whole time. I do have one thing you don't though Keyser, I have an armchair to sit in when something goes wrong. It's my "I buggered something up and need to calm down" chair I stayed at the inlaws house last night so couldn't take any pics of my garage 1 Quote

Ekona Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I suspect that's far from what people expect The back half is still storage from the house move, and I've a pile of carpet tiles I need to put down under the MR2 as well. It'll be ace when I'm done though, it's a good length too with power, water and Ethernet throughout. 1 Quote
AliveBoy Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Ethernet is a huge plus! I get 4g in mine so Google help is available haha. Plenty of space outside. Glass table until I get a workbench built at the back Tools Storage space and the Oh no chair Quote
Ekona Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Spare friction disc?! Love the idea of the Oh No chair Quote
AliveBoy Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 It's hard to see in the picture, but that used to be an organic clutch, not a paddle one My gearbox looked like this: 1 Quote

Ekona Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 It's actually pretty light inside, the photo doesn't do it justice. But you're right, there's masses of work to be done on it. Subject to planning, I want to extend it to the left to double it, then install a pit. Quote
GMballistic Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I suspect that's far from what people expect Yep, I expected your garage to look more like this Dan. 3 Quote
