PopEye Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hello all! My name is Chris, I'm 23 from the North West... Living between two homes, Costa del Fleetwood and the Wirral. I'm a trainee engineer in the merchant navy and looking for my first RWD car and what better than a 350Z! I have read that there's a few merch members on here, interested to see what line/company you're with! I'm not looking to get a Zed until this time next year, but doing my homework and man maths to make it work! Hoping to work my way up the range as I progress through the ranks, the ultimate goal is a GT-R! I'm bored of the typical eurobox hatch... Currently driving a Seat Ibiza Fr diesel... fun but not 3.5L of fun! Great site and look forward to getting involved more as time goes on! Quote
martinmac Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hi and welcome to the forum. I went to Fleetwood college but it was a few years ago. Lexx and I both work for Targe towing in Aberdeen at the moment. I also live just across the water from Fleetwood. Quote
PopEye Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Hi and welcome to the forum. I went to Fleetwood college but it was a few years ago. Lexx and I both work for Targe towing in Aberdeen at the moment. I also live just across the water from Fleetwood. It's expanded to Engineering now and more offshore facilities than you could imagine! There's probably still a few of your lecturers there... Guessing you hail from Knott End? Lovely place to escape from the wildlife of Fleetwood! I'm currently with Rio Tinto Marine, operating on the North and East side of Australia, running iron ore to China, managed by a prominent Glaswegian management company... Quote
martinmac Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Other side of the bay Chris, Cark in Cartmel. I have spent a lot of time in Knott End while at college but thats another story. Sounds like a good job nowadays. Give me a shout when you get bored. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hi Chris, welcome to our big family! Quote
Lexx Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 They must be paying cadets better these days! I did my cadetship with Maersk at GCNS. Quote
PopEye Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 They must be paying cadets better these days! I did my cadetship with Maersk at GCNS. Not paid badly, but better than some other companies. I prefer saving my money for something i'll enjoy for a long time than one night I'll never remember! My preferred tipple is V-Power, but the derv kind at the moment! Or HFO while away... Quote
Lexx Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Once you get your Seconds ticket give me a bell and I'll look at getting you a job on something thay doesn't involve ****ing off for months on end Quote
PopEye Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 Always good to know! This industry is all about that, who you know, not what you know... I'm aiming to get one trip or so with my current company to get the first stamp in my book, then bugger off to BP for a few years! Nothing against my company, but it's hard being the only native English speaker on-board... Frustrating at times! Whats the deal with Targe? Time for time? Quote
