Flex Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Bloody shell still 5p per litre higher for normal, not even compared the superduper octane. Gits. Quote
KyleR Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 reckon i can beat that! standard is 107.9 here now, so if super is its usual 5p extra, that would make it 112.9p. or in other words, a proper bargain! Super seems to be about 7-8p dearer at the moment compared to the regular, probably just dragging its heels due to being less common. Quote
Jetpilot Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Super was 113.9 in Weston today. Momentum 99 the same in Poole today 1 Quote
Rock_Steady Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I paid 98.9 for diesel on Wednesday, albeit with 20 pence off from the Tesco card but I haven't paid that sort of price in nearly 10 years I think Quote
350 Russ Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Petrol prices today fell to $49.50 a barrel briefly before going to just over $50 again, if it carries on like this I might be able to afford that Alfa 155v6 for work I've had my eye on!! Quote
ioneabee Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Local shell garage to me has one of the lowest prices for standard petrol and deisel for the area.............apart from super - which is the highest at £1.18 Quote
WhackyWill Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Tesco down the road from me is £1.09 per liter for 95, Quote
ioneabee Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 £1.05 here now in Tesco Pembroke Dock 1 Quote
brillomaster Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 So who has bets on it reaching £1 a litre? I reckon its going to do it! been dropping like a stone recently, 105.9 at a few forecourts round leamington now. Quote
370Ad Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Stolen from another forum but I definitely agree with them so posting here: Duty is 57.95p Vat is 17.62p They are finding, drilling, refining and transporting to my local heated and lit fuel station for just over 30p a litre. Truly amazing. Quote
Ekona Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Lower fuel prices are, in general, a bad thing. The government are losing so much money on the tax, that ultimately they're going to have to raise taxes elsewhere... Quote

brillomaster Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 up the duty on tobacco, and cap childcare benefits. people need to drive, people don't need to smoke and have a million children. 2 Quote
370Ad Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 up the duty on tobacco, and cap childcare benefits. people need to drive, people don't need to smoke and have a million children. I think they have now capped benefits so you cannot earn more than the average wage in Britain. Unless there is a medical reason or other extenuating circumstances. Quote
Ekona Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 up the duty on tobacco, and cap childcare benefits. people need to drive, people don't need to smoke and have a million children. People don't need to drive as there's public transport or cycling, and children are important to encourage as they're going to pay for the elderly in this country which is increasing too fast. /devil's advocate Quote

Ekona Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Oh it's crap here too (no mainline to the airport 20 mins away!), just throwing the stick of dynamite out there What we really need to do is to start taxing vaping materials. Now there's something begging to be raped. Quote

Adrian@TORQEN Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (Reuters) - Global oil prices resumed their slide on Friday after two days of relative calm, with Brent and U.S. crude hitting their lowest level since April, 2009, on persistent worry over the global supply glut. Benchmark Brent crude broke below $49 a barrel, drifting further below the $50 support level it had seen earlier in the week. U.S. crude fell below $48. Quote
Ceejay29 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Super is 116.9 here in Bath; thought it would be lower considering some of the prices posted elsewhere on this topic. Quote
