Following on In the normal tradition my family always names my cars and the latest addition has been named -

Frogster

So first run out on track this Saturday, I thought I'd get a few things ready and see how it goes

First job was to get some towing loops fitted for the bits when I don't get it quite right :scare::drive1:

On the front I have added a bar from the cross member to just behind the grill

The back was bolted straight to the tubular chassis

Next up was the harnesses, it did have them but I had some better ones but they would not fit neatly on the original mounts so after much discussion and drinking of coffee me and Buster stumbled upon this solution -

Made up a bar

test fit

Happy so welded it hung it for paint

bolted it in and hooked up the drivers harness

Now for the really really important bit - to make her faster and add a few BHP

Yes Sticker Bomb time :yahoo:

Wings

And the boot

That's her ready for track

I also had no head lights an I have started to investigate -

Problem 1

The previous owner had an immobilisers fitted and I think they zip tied the wires up after they finished and have managed to pull all the wires off the main/dip beam switch

Problem 2

After playing with the now too short wires we found that the switch doesn't work - well it dose not latch so short of driving with your finger on the button not a good solution.

I have ordered a new switch and while waiting for that to arrive I have rewired the first switch so I now have side lights and dip beam, good enough for daytime driving on a race track

I will update the "interesting" wiring when the switch gets here - although while Matt was here last night we did find out that the horn only works when the lights are off

Keepin it Green

So what engine have you got in this green bad boy?

Just a little old 998cc 4 banger - nothing to keep up with you big boys on track this Saturday!

We will ignore the fact that before the rebuild it was powering a Yamaha R1 and rev's to a little over 12,000rpm and I'm sure Matt will agree after last night that 2nd gear is enough to scare you to death

The full line up on the drive/Road outside?

This could get embarrassing

OK

1. SC 370z

2. N/A 350z Roadster - Mrs Keyser's

3. MNR (Frogster)

4. Micra Junior Keyser's

5. Toyata Hilux Pickup - DD / Work / Towing car trailer to track

6. Vauxhall Astra Van - Hardly ever get near it as my engineer has it 90% of the time (except when it needs fuel  )

7. Vauxhall Astra 1.6 eco thingy - Mums but she doesn't drive anymore so we use it - not my fav!!

8. Mini - Ownership TBC - not on the road waiting to finish the project.

Think that's everything

I called up to get insurance on the MNR and the guy said do you have access to any other cars? I said Yes 6 - he said No seriously how many
