Peak 370 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Buxton to Shoeburyness and back. Does that sound like decent mpg? Yes I was mainly trying to be good! :-) Quote
Suits Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Yes mate, I'd say so. Even though it's a meaty 3.7V6 it's a fairly modern engine so I'd expect top get something like that on a long trip when trying. Since I've had my '70 (which isn't my daily) I've managed a combined return of 23.9 MPG, that's Euro trips, a few track days(6MPG) and general blatting about in. I think the car returns a decent MPG in general considering the performance it gives. Quote
ioneabee Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 if you were being good, not accelerating hard and sticking to 60-70 (ish) - then that would be below average I (and others) have generally achieved 32-34 on long (re : boring) trips..............not that its hugely different from what you got Quote
Suits Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 It begs the question, whats the most economical speed for the 370 ?? As you could just set the CC on long jaunts and reap the rewards. Quote
R35LEE Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I managed 37 MPG in a convoy to the lakes doing 60mph with a poorly 280z in the pack 1 Quote
Will370z Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Following pappa back from the lakes at normal motorway pace (cough cough) i got 34mpg over the course of 200 miles Quote
Dave-350 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I currently have 11MPg on my daily commute 1 mile up the road. Quote
ross27 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 My overall avergae of the past few months is sat exactly on 23MPG. This was the same before i rest it too which is odd. On one long trip i had 32MPG, but i find it sooo hard to stick to one speed and end up having a play! I tend not to pay much attention to it to be fair, the fun factor outweighs a couple of saved pennies!! 1 Quote
AJRFulton Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I find flatness of road impacts the Z a lot. South of England/Europe where roads generally are flat.... 32-34mpg Scotland/Wales/North of England.... 26-28mpg Quote

spanner Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 French Autoroute from Grenoble to Reims last week. 365 miles with the cruise set most of the way between 78 and 84mph gave us 33 MPG. Can't complain at that at all. Quote
Neilp Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 17.3 mpg in my 350z on the way home from lakez on motorway at 70mph Quote
JetSet Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Over the last 14,000 miles I've averaged 26.1. In the last 4,000 miles that figure has only fluctuated from 26.0 to 26.2. I've never reset the computer but have done a few calculations based on fuel I've put in and mileage. ASDA run, 6 miles there and back about 19.5 mpg, as little as 16 mpg on a cold winters morning . Motorway run at steady 70, 30.8 mpg. Wales run, over the 3 days 25.0 mpg. Economy run to step daughter in Sandbach and back (70 miles) 32 in my Zed, 28 in Caroline's roadster. She's averaged 21.6 in the almost 4 years she's owned hers but she changes up gears at around 4k compared to my 3k. Pete Quote
rothers2901 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Just returned from a 2k trip about France and averaged 32 mpg. Quote
AJRFulton Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 French Autoroute from Grenoble to Reims last week. 365 miles with the cruise set most of the way between 78 and 84mph gave us 33 MPG. Can't complain at that at all. I seemed to average mpg much higher mpg in France. I suspect the fact roads are fairly flat and smooth tarmac may be a factor. Quote
Suits Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 160 mile round trip from Essex to Whipsnade yesterday got me this. I was kind of trying though, or rather, being aware not to keep blatting the throttle for a quick grin. Pretty pleased if I'm honest. Quote
Siman350z Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 In the 350 I have seen 36.5 on a 300 mile trip, daily see 28 with mixed driving- 28 on a run is appalling for a modern engine which isn't in a supercar! Quote
Dynamic Turtle Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 AFAIK most engines are designed achieve peak efficiency at 55mph - US highway cruising speed. Quote
Asad Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 That mpg you achieved is really good number. It's better than my 350z which is good because I was expecting same mpg. Quote
