Hello from a newbie and buying advice please

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I've recently decided after much deliberation, to buy a 350. A combination of looks and tech specs have won me over.

Here's the cheeky question. I'd like a bit of buying advice please. Is there anything I should lookout for?

My budget is no more than £10,000.

Thanks,

Mark

For £10K your probably looking at the HR engined Zed then are you? ..there's plenty of choice for that budget. Have a look at the Zeds for sale on here.

Welcome & good luck with the search. 10k will get you into the later HR model 2007-2009. You can tell these by the twin air intake and bulge in the bonnet. A forum member was/is selling a very tidy looking example which is on ebay. I'll find the link for you.

He may have sold it now as ebay listing has ended but worth a PM maybe.

Welcome man, I just bought my zed a couple of weeks ago. Had a similar budget to you but went over by £2k because I saw one which I really wanted. You'll definitely find yourself a good zed with that budget - defo look for the HR models and look out for the GT Spec

Congratulations on your choice of car:)

If you post up where you're based you might even get some members local to you to help in your search.

I remember helping one member compare my zed to a prospective purchase.

It wasn't rough because it was "the raw feel designed into the zed" as the dealer told him.

IT WAS JUST ROUGH!

Good luck and as others have said you should be able to get a good example.

And I've also found an 07 that is over budget. I'm rubbish at haggling. What's a reasonable offer on a car that's listed at 11,995? If I can get that under ten grand it could be right.

Hard to say but there is no harm in telling the buyer that £10K is your maximum offer and that's the best you can do ~ £2K off is a fair chunk though so they may tell you no sorry.
