Ephraimjohn Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Hi all, Just a quick hello. My missus has just bought herself a 2005 sunset orange roadster, which she already loves. We're both long term petrolheads, and she's coming from a classic shape Impreza to the Zed, which she chose over a Boxster and a Corvette (though she was mighty tempted by a 400bhp C4). I run a Mazda RX-8 (insert oil consumption/unreliability/lack of torque jokes here ) and am moderately active within the owners club. She's not a big fan of internet forums, so it's my job to look after this end of things, so will be around from time to time to ask idiot questions. Having had a quick drive of the Zed, i think that ownership is going to be a pleasure. The exhaust bark under hard acceleration is addictive! She's already describing it as "the best car I've ever driven", which given some of the stuff she's driven in the past, on the road and on track, is pretty high praise indeed. We've got a 4 year old daughter though, which means that it'll likely be on the infrequent times that we can blag babysitting. I've been mighty tempted by a 240Z in the past, so wouldn't rule it out always. She's a much faster/better driver than I am, as well, so will likely maintain her grip on the wheel for as long as she wants. We compete in local motor club events, and long experience has taught us that her driving and me navigating is a much more competitive combo than the other way around! The meet would have been great, 14N, but we're at Brooklands that weekend for the Autumn motorsport day (going down the night before to hook up with my family - my great grandfather used to race at the circuit).
