Got back from the El Dorado Royale in Mexico yesterday and thought I would share a few snaps. Hotel was out of this world- food, booze and activities were great, especially enjoyed jet skis and parasailing - roll on next year so I can go again!

Looks real nice

Can't believe after all that food you ate a 3 week old donkey, that's just not on.

What happened to the history and sight seeing. Although to be fair I'd be stuffed after a small donkey.

Hotel was out of this world! Facilities, drinks, restaurants and service were superb. The only thing that bothered me was that some people ( mainly Americans if I am honest) were hugely rude to the staff - i got the impression that they saw them as being 'below' them. The staff ran to their every need and were so polite and helpful. Whats more many of the rude ones didn't tip. This annoyed me, especially when they come from a tipping culture and Mexican staff live in such poor conditions.

I made friends with a few of the staff that work there, in particular one of the bar keepers. I knew that they were paid poorly but didn't realise how poorly. 6 dollars a day for an eight hour shift with no break. We ended up tipping highly everywhere when I found this out.

I really wanted to see the Mayan tower etc but I couldn't go the two and a half hours bus journey - I'll save that or next year. As for the donkey - I could only manage a small one with fries.

Looks lovely! was it Cancun?

had honeymoon there and loved it  if you do go back do your best to get to the Mayan ruins, very worth it and good to get out of the more touristy bits. Chichen Itza good but Palenque very nice as well but a lot further

I need to go back one day as well.

Nice pics Cragus  Always been tempted to do Mexico and might have to do it sooner than later! Think another month road trip across the States is first though :drive1

We had a few weeks in the Moon Palace about 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. Put on a stone in weight in the first week though so had to but new shirts for the second week :snack:

Know what you mean about being rude to the staff, when we went to the Dominican Republic we were eating a meal on the terrace one night and there was only one other table with about 6 or 7 young guys who were American.

One guy lifted a cigarette and said 'light boy' to one of the young waiters, me and the missus had to be escorted off the premises as we went mental...

Really fancy going to Mexico though, mate just back from Cancun and he said was he best holiday he has had.

I put on almost 2 stone in the weeks I was away and the one after!!

Far too many carbs and alcohol!!

Did you go to coco bongo's Craig?

I went to Coco Bongo's the night before we went swimming with dolphins............that was a bad idea after drinking cheap shots all night :yuck:

We paid VIP bongo thing so were up on a private balcony with out own waiter. I disnt get out my bed the next day except to be sick

Next door must have though everybody was out as it was day time and were shagging like **** and woke me up lol
