  1. After it fell thru my circumstances had changed where my new girlfriend had a few kids so thought it more sensible having the family cars so stuck with the A6 and Merc jeep. But recently had an inkling for keeping one of the cars for daily business and getting another 370 for special days
  2. After selling my 16 plate Nismo as I had a deal lined up for a GTR which subsequently fell thru I have now done a deal for a 17 plate Nismo. It’s the same white version, guy bought it last year and stored in garage believing it would go up in value as a collectors item and when value started going down he decided to trade it in. So I’ve got a 17 plate White Nismo with only 31 miles on it... Will be picking it up during the week and can’t wait because for the past year I’ve been driving a 14 plate Audi A6 and also a 56 plate Mercedes ML320 Jeep. Trading the Audi in for the Nismo and keeping the jeep to be able to cart the family about and Nismo will be just for me and the girlfriend to enjoy when kids aren’t about I’m going to be parking the car in private spaces behind the girlfriends flat so I’m on the lookout for an outside cover, preferably one designed for the 370 if anyone has any suggestions and my one concern is do you do any damage taking them on and off all the time? Ie small scratches etc Anyway glad to be back and hopefully there is still a strong Scottish contingent on here and hope to get along to any planned meets in the future.
  3. It was Nismo mats I asked Macklin Motors in Darnley to get me, they are a Nissan HPC but it was just standard 370Z mats they brought out after waiting on back order for a few weeks.
  4. Yes I had already done that Alex, but looking at the mats which have Nismo on them they don't look like official Nissan Nismo mats, more second party numbers and even at that they all seem to be from over the pond so won't fit a right hand drive How hard would it be for Nissan to have their Nismo badge embroidered onto the standard 370 mats instead of the 370 emblem??
  5. Picked up the Nismo last Tuesday and absolutely loving it, had my first drive up over the Leadhills thru the highest village in Scotland and that's exactly the type of run the car is made for. I'll get some photos uploaded shortly. One question, is there such a thing as Nismo car mats? I had ordered them from dealer but when I went in to collect they were just standard 370Z etched mats, I'm sure I seen somewhere ones with Nismo in the same colours as the Nismo badge???
  6. I know your talking about a PCP deal, but have you considered leasing rather than purchasing. I take delivery of my brand new Nismo in a fortnights time, costing me around £1800 up front including the VAT and approx £520 a month for 3 years with 20,000 miles allowance per year. Then I can simply get a new car every 3 years, which suits me just fine.
  7. I have still to 8th June to wait for my new 370Z Nismo being delivered and want rid of my Saab right now so thought I would take a long term rental car, one of my mates is back over with his family from the States and hired a BMW 320 from Manchester Airport for 28 days and paid £400 plus the £250 deposit you pay. But every single company I look at, including the same company he used is quoting me thousands for the roughly 40 days I was looking for!!!!! Anyone know any realistic hire companies, I didn't mind paying £500-600 but not paying £1800.... As my username suggests I'm based in Glasgow but if anyone knows a decent sized company they will no doubt have a depot in Scotland, or if it's a smaller local company even better..
  8. Your fine for the chocolate, I had to read that thread again as had forgotten about that But fairs fair, I didn't win a case because it didn't go any further so your bet is void
  9. Regards that thread quoted I guess I was just lucky as I never heard another word about, so hopefully it's been too long now for it to reappear Business lease is around £500 mark for 3 year lease, 3 months deposit and giving mileage allowance of 20k per year. Still not had reply on whether another colour is available sooner, I'm not the most patient person in the world, 8 weeks seems a lifetime away!!!! Actually seen photos of the Red and that looks great as well....
  10. I've had an 04 plate 350Z GT in Black, and then I had a silver 350Z GT Roadster after a year and a half in a new Le Mans Blue 370Z. But had to move on to diesel cars as was doing massive miles commuting every week. Now I've given up working for someone else and working for myself I have decided to get back into Z ownership, and I have decided to Lease a car this time. And I've just placed the order today for a 370Z Storm White Nismo!!! But got email back saying first one off production is 9th June which seems like an eternity for me so I have asked them to check if any other colours will be available earlier and then I can make a decision on whether to change colour or not. Interested to see what peoples thoughts are on the Nismo, had a test drive and I thought it was awesome, yes a bit firmer but not bone shatteringly so. What I was disappointed with is that it didn't appear to have Music Box which my 370Z GT had with the full Premium Pack, am I right in saying the Nismo can't record your CD's to hard drive? Anyway, can't wait to get delivery and get myself along to some Central Scotland meets again.
  11. My favourite right now is a Drifter... Anyway, thanks to everyone for their candid replies, was really only wanting to clarify if I took it to court could they indeed increase my charge to dangerous driving or wreckless driving as that's all together a different ballgame...
  12. Now your talking my language, legal bill in the thousands but got a free bit of chocolate
  13. Not sure what your car drives like, but 'gunning it' in 2nd or 3rd in mine results in motorway speeds in very little time at all... And remember the Zed is notorious for not 'feeling' very fast. I've been pulled over twice and neither time has been near the site of the alleged incident - both 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away. They were probably checking your plates before they pulled you. How can you definitively and undeniably prove they weren't 'right behind you' (which is a vague phrase in its self, which I assume really "means within a couple hundred meters of you") when you didn't have a dash cam or lots of witnesses? As I said I probably took it to about 40, was more to hear the exhaust as it's large tenement houses either side of the street so it sounds similar to a tunnel
  14. That's why it will be important when they have to submit their report and my lawyer gets copy of it, my defense will rest on what they write. If a car is between us then they can't possibly have an unobstructed view of when my wheels crossed the white line.
  15. And they may have had to stop for the light you "ran". Or for the junction to be clear before they could cross it to come after you. Or they could have been in a side road waiting to pull out, or been hiding in a building with a telescope looking for people in sports cars to lie about because they're bitterly jealous... Good one, laughed at telescope
  16. I'm hardly going to say I gunned it from roundabout to lights am I, I will simply say I was sitting around 30mph when lights turned to amber as I was a few yards away so decided to carry on rather than brake firmly for risk of someone running into the back of me. So with that being the case for it to take half a mile to get to me proves they were not right behind me.
  17. This might be the saying, but when two police officers are saying one thing, and you're saying another, it's the other way around. Yes but when I can prove they were not right behind me, it brings their word into question doesn't it. And then add in them telling me lies about facing a potentially higher charge if I don't accept the fixed penalty it all takes away from the credence of their character.
  18. And I will have a good lawyer, I would rather spend that money than be falsely fined.
  19. That's not what I have been told by traffic officers, once you cross the white line you have entered the junction so have not ran a red light. If what you say is true then millions of people all over the country run a red light every minute of the day.
  20. Completely understand that, but it's the fact they were adamant they were right behind me when it was impossible for them to have been. And that's why I will take it to court. If I get 4 points then so be it but when the report is read out in court and they say they were right behind me I will ask how it took half a mile before they caught up with me as not once did they mention anything about me speeding. And I didn't gun it down the main street, I was behind other cars. And I wasn't aware I needed to prove my innocence, they need to prove I was guilty in this country
  21. When I said it was amber he came out with the highway code dictates that amber lights should be treated like a red light to which I replied so is it an offence to go thru an amber light? No reply was forthcoming. The highway code states stopping distance at 30mph is 75 feet or 23 meters. I was only about 10 meters away when it went from green to amber. I actually took my foot off to hit the brakes then thought it best to just go as would mean braking quite hard to stop.
  22. Well after much searching and still not being able to decide which diesel to get I was thrown a curveball as my mate who always done work on my cars bought a new range rover so was selling his Land Rovery Discovery 3 so I have decided to buy it off him. It's the 2.7 Turbo diesel, but the bonus with this car is it's an ex-police Discovery used as a pursuit car then in later life as an accident investigation car, so it comes with all police modifications ie twin turbos It's white and absolutely dominates the road wherever it goes, it is high mileage but full service history and my mate has taken 100% great care of it, only done 7k miles in last 3 years he has owned it. Means I will be simply cruising from location to location for a wee while at least. He did say when your going down the motorway cars all pull out the way, mistaking it for a police car, which is nice It doesn't have the additional seats installed but this means the boot is absolutely enormous, he pulled back the cover when he let down the tailgate to show me it, and when he was going to close it he couldn't even reach the curtain to close it again it goes in to the car that deep. What I am struggling to find out anywhere is what kind of BHP these ex-cop cars put out, the standard single turbo edition has 188bhp, but can't find details of this anywhere.
  23. I got pulled over by two cops in standard police van saying I had just went thru a red light, I said there was no chance I went thru a red light and it was amber when I entered the junction. They issued me with a fixed penalty notice which I stated I would not be accepting and I would contest in court, one of the policemen told me that if I contest it in court they could increase the fine and points and they could also change the charge to wreckless driving or careless driving. Now I know they can increase the points or fine, that's the gamble I'm willing to take as I know 100% I never went thru a red light, but I have never heard of them being able to change the charge, and could someone confirm if this is true or not. I recorded the full things in back of the police car on my mobile phone so if they have told me lies I will be reporting the officer concerned because in my eyes they have simply seen a sports car and decided to do me with something. They claimed they were right behind me when I went thru the lights but I know that must be a lie, i went round a mini roundabout in 2nd gear which is about 600 yards from lights which I was going left at, I gunned it in 2nd and was going into 3rd when I got to lights and started turning amber when I was about 15-20 yards away so I went rather than slamming on the brakes. So there was no way they could have been 'right' behind me. Don't get me wrong I wasn't flying, I was probably going between 30-40 when I got to lights. And when I was travelling down the main road I was nearly half a mile down the road when I seen the blue lights coming up behind me from distance, how is this possible if they were 'right' behind me.
  24. I only get fuel card, so all other costs are my own.
  25. That was first thing I looked for, but for my budget you see them with 180-250k miles on them!!!
