  1. Alex's roadster could go not too bad Quick question, every roadster I look at never have steering wheel control on the left hand side, can't remember now, is that the bluetooth handfree controls? Can you not get BT on a roadster?
  2. I had a 54 plate coupe for 2 years before I done a move to a Jaguar XKR and then a year later to the 370Z. So I know how much I loved the coupe and wonder if it's time to take my first step into a convertible or does it make you look too much like a douche
  3. Would I still be able to fit my golf clubs in the boot of a roadster. I know they just fit into a coupe. I do agree that Coupe's look better vs roadster with roof up, but when you put the roof down the Roadster just shades it in looks. But it looks a bit strange with roof up.
  4. I am about to buy a 350 hopefully before next weekend and undecided whether to go for a coupe or roadster as I have never owned a convertible before. I am buying around the £7k range so seen some 05 and 55 cars in both coupe and roadsters in that price range and they tend to be around the 50k-60k in miles so that's fine I can live with that, as I won't put that many miles on it anyway. So what I wanted to ask is what peoples opinions are of the roadster, is it a lot noisier? Do you lose any of the already small boot space with it being a convertible? Any other drawbacks to having a convertible than a coupe? Are the hoods usually in good condition or is there anything I should look out for that's a common fault?
  5. I've loved the 370, handling is far superior to the 350, petrol costs seem to be better as well. I've done 30k in mines and I only got it a year past March, but it's going today as I needed to get a wood burner for work due to long commute. Bought myself an 06 plate Saab 93 estate 1.9TiD which is averaging 50 miles to a gallon so doing what it should. Will be buying a 350 within £7k price bracket mainly for weekend use and got a shock when I phoned insurance company yesterday, was adding my Saab to the insurance and told them the 370 would be going but I will replace it with 350 and he done a comparison quote based on a 55 plate Roadster and my insurance will go from £450 for the 370 to £650 for the 350.....where is the bloody logic in that??
  6. I would stick with the Avons, never thought of them before but I bought a set of GT4 alloys from member on here and they came fitted with Avons and I found them excellent. So I always replaced them with Avons when they ran out. About £115 a corner if memory serves me correct as well so quite cheap.
  7. I'll need to have a look at the wifes Juke. She got it last year at this time, due it's first service as turning a year old and she has only done 4,500 miles... It's white but a petrol with reversing camera etc, drove it a few times and love driving it. Yes boot space it terrible. She loves it. She covered the Juke badge of the back with diamond replicas and another badge above the word Juke with diamonds on it saying Daisy. So I look very good driving Daisy Juke about
  8. Good luck to him as I had my 61 plate 370 with slightly lower miles on Autotrader for £19k exactly and never got a single phone call.... And mines has the reversing camera etc.
  9. I'm in exactly the same boat, need something to do roughly 30-40k a year so needs to get good MPG. Before I moved to the 350 and then the 370 I was a Saab man, with 4 Saab 95s in a row. So I have decided to get a nice 93 or maybe 95 diesel, 1.9 or 2.2, very comfy on long drives, especially the 95. You won't believe how comfy it is on a long motorway drive and how cheap you can buy them. My 370 should hopefully be gone by the weekend and got a garage with 2 Saab 93's and one 95 estate waiting to be test drove to pick which one I want. All three are around the 75k miles mark, 04-55 plates and all well under £3k. Was originally going to try and get 3.0 V6 Saab 95 Diesel but read too many horror stories about them. But supposed to go like stink and still got great fuel economy if your not flooring it.
  10. I am in process of selling my 370Z, due to long distance commute with new job, so plan is to buy a cheap Saab diesel for the commute and a 350Z for a weekend car. Hoping to get my sale complete this week, if it's done by end of the week I'll be in touch as really nice car. And since my 370Z is blue I have a soft spot for the colour now Where abouts are you based?
  11. Seen one on the M8 on way back to Glasgow from Edinburgh last Sunday, took me from livingston to Newhouse to finally get right behind him as plonkers kept moving out in front of me. Just before we reached Newhouse i was right behind him and as soon as car in front moved in he gave it everything, makes the most impressive noise as it goes, it really does, and I must have went thru about £20 of petrol trying to keep up with him so god knows how much petrol they drink when giving it the beans.. I guess when you can afford that it, petrol costs dont concern you
  12. Don't know if it would be of interest but I have a set of old wheels, not rays but the more rounded edge ones, with completely legal tyres sitting in my mates garage in Calderbank which is not far from Glasgow. You could have them for a nominal fee then you would have yours available to sell. Have you sold your car already? Or how much you looking for it?
  13. I have a warning light that's came on last night. Its at far right bottom. looks like a horseshoe with exclaimation mark in middle and little dotts along bottom. My mates Passat manual has an identical warning light in the manual which is a tyre pressure warning. But the 370z manual doesn't seem to show the 370z as having such a function as these are usually for cars which have run flat tyres are they not?
  14. Cant believe anyone can slag off the galaxy tab for lag and then say the iPad is far superior. Yes the iPad is slicker, but make a post using an iPad and try and type anything quicker than 2 words every 10 seconds and you always need to go back over what you have typed to add in all the characters that have been missed. Its always been the problem with iPads.
  15. I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 as a replacement for your iPad, that's what I went for when both my iPad 2 and 3 went onto ebay and I have not regretted it. I don't think there are many tablets out there that can rival the iPad for it's slickness but that fact I can play flash in the standard browser is a big enough bonus to outweigh the iPad. I do find it strange why the default browser in Android supports flash, but google Chrome doesn't. If I was buying a new tablet now then I would give one of the Microsoft tablets a go, I think they will work better if you intend using any of the office suite as that's the biggest drawback when I have used all other tablets. Yes other tablets might have their own version of word or excel and even allow you to import and work on a microsoft file, but what do you do with it then as you can't save it anywhere really. You need to email it back to yourself so you can use it on your PC....
  16. I just called Macklin Nissan in Glasgow to get price for P2 and it was £214 inclusive so not too bad at all...
  17. Ive just noticed a small orange light up next to the map reading lights? Looked thru the manual and no mention of it, driving me crazy not knowing its purpose now...
  18. Yes it was myself, knew it would be yourself as only seen you and Jay in the Storm White. Was taking my boy out to Airdrie. Always nice to see another 370 on the road and even better when they give you a nod
  19. Pretty sure it was a blackberry I had during my two visits to Tokyo and never had any issues.
  20. Eating out I didn't find it any more expensive than other cities. Don't expect to get your electronics cheap though. I had bought one of the first HD Sony camcorders a few months before going and the exact same camera in Tokyo was either the same price or slightly dearer. But what you will see are electronics which are next generation which we won't have seen yet. The day after I went to see those cars I was up in all the electronics shops and I bought a new Sony camera which had a new lens which takes in more light than any other digital camera. You can take a picture in near complete darkness and the photo shows up more than you can see with your eyes...sods law it would have been perfect to have FOR that visit to see the cars. Your right regards the flights. The first time I went I flew KLM and paid for a flight so my missus could go with me. Think I got the flight for £350 as we went about this time of year, Tokyo was her favourite place as well. On my photo bucket you will see other libraries from our Tokyo visits. Beautiful, beautiful city.
  21. I have stayed at the Tokyo Hilton and also the Conrad in Tokyo, the Conrad is out of this world but would be too expensive to stay in if on holiday. I worked for Hilton so I was twice in Tokyo working and was therefore staying in the hotels free of charge. I have been in cities all over the world and I have to say that Tokyo is the best City I have ever been to, it is out of this world. As Irfan states, do your research as the size of Tokyo is unbelievable. It's the cleanest city you will ever have visited. I was lucky during my second visit when I stayed at the Tokyo Hilton that one of the Japanese guys took me and one of his mates to Daikoku Futo, which on a Friday and Saturday night is where all the guys take their modified vehicles to show them off. It's just a big car park next to a McDonalds and a couple of other outlets under a massive interchange of motorways, was a real eye opener for me and I could have spent forever there. I managed to get some photos though which I still have on my photobucket page:- http://s596.beta.photobucket.com/user/maxiglasgow/library/Daikoku%20Futo I read on forums that later on at night some of the guys go out drifting and it's possible to get a passenger ride, but the night I was there the police came into the car park around 10pm to move everyone on. I think it was to clamp down on the street racing... The big eye opener for me was their train service, if your going down to the station and your cutting it fine timewise, forget it, you've missed that train you were going for as they are always bang on the button. I think I heard it mentioned that if a train is something like ridiculous like 30 seconds late then they are classed as late and fines are issued to the company. So trains run like clockwork. Where are you flying into? Our first visit we foolishly jumped in a cab from the airport and cost us something like the equivalent of £140!!! But you can get the bus for something like £15...I just blamed our HR manager who had mentioned to me when she had went that she just jumped in a taxi. One thing I did notice is that taxi drivers tend to be older gentleman who speak absolutely no English, and even having the address written down is no use.
  22. I haven't noticed it at all, think it may just be my angle taking the photo.
  23. No problem, cost a grand total of £460 which when you compare to an off the shelf exhaust for the 370 is chicken feed. And I have a brand new cat back exhaust system which sounds exactly how I wanted it.
  24. Finally bit the bullet and after seeing Jay's exhaust in the flesh decided to get my own custom exhaust done by Simons Custom Exhausts in East Kilbride. Sounds perfect now, just how it should have sounded out the showroom, and I got tailpipes which make it look more like the OEM tailpipes. Now when you go down the gears coming to a roundabout or junction your REALLY hear the Syncrorev working with that lovely blip of the throttle... Absolutely love it. It's a true dual system. Here's a first pic when I got home, will try to get a video to let yous hear it as well.
  25. Thought the car park looked familiar, its a very small world, it was Sam who sold me my 370z as well. Extremely helpful and I was pleased with how the dealers treated me, so much so I took the missus to buy a new Juke, which she absolutely loves. And to be honest is quite nice to drive, although my street cred went right downhill when i had to borrow it to pick up some big boxes as its white and she has put a badge with the word Daisy above the Juke badge and little diamonties over the two badges.....
