  1. Drove it into work this morning, leave the house at 6:30 but still put the roof down and heating on I travel down the A76 towards Dumfries as I work in Kirkconnel and the road when you leave New Cumnock right into Kirkconnel must be one of the best Zed roads in Scotland, plenty of twists and turns and at least three good straights for overtaking. Caught up with a Megane which was fairly tramping on and when I went by it on a good strait I got to go thru 3rd, 4th and 5th to the most delightful growl, Megane had three or four people in obviously travelling into work as well and I'm sure they will have enjoyed the noise as well
  2. Don't think the nose looked like a Veilside, may be wrong though.
  3. Thanks for all the comments and help from everyone over the last week or so when I was swithering between a Roadster and a Coupe. Special thanks to SteveM who posted what to look for in the roof and also kindly agreed to look at photo's I got the owner to take of the areas he mentioned Finally took the plunge yesterday, flew down to Birmingham from Glasgow with my mate, met the lady owner and her friend, seen the car, went for test drive and within 300 yards knew I wanted it. Absolutely fantastic driving with the roof down, although on the 4 hours drive back up the road the sunburn I've got on my head and down one side of my neck is unbelievable..... Car had 4 brand new Avon tyres put on, which was the brand of tyre I had moved to on my old 350 as well and found them superb. But best part of all is that a full Cat back exhaust has been installed, not 100% what kind but it had massive cans at the end and the sound makes the hairs on the back of your neck rise, she said it was an HSK or something so I presume she really means an HKS?? Drive up the road was exquisite and within 5 minutes my mate was saying he needs to get himself a convertible. Car is needing some TLC, got plans for it but won't be happening in the immediate term, wheels definitely need a refurb so will be hoping to get them powdercoated at same time. Body work has lots of tiny little scratches, or more like swirls, looks like someone has been trying to polish it with product too abrasive or something, but my plan is to get it wrapped anyway. I know the body kit I really want to get but may get it wrapped first as that may be a good while before the funds get back up to afford the kit again. Anyway her is a quick pic I took last night after dropping my mate off.
  4. Passed by and then a little drive with a lovely white 54 plate 350z, gorgeous body kit on it with deep dish alloys. Young guy followed me towards Airdrie and only noticed after he had turned that he went up towards Petersburn. Don't know if it's a JDM or not or just bigger number plates due to the body kit.
  5. To pick it up in Lancaster when the car is based in Coventry would mean waiting till the weekend so I am flying down to Birmingham in the morning and buying the car at lunchtime. Then enjoy the drive back up to Gods country with the roof hopefully down Can't wait now.... Will post some pics when I get back.
  6. I had my XKR on ebay and it was an older gentleman from Germany who flew over with his son and paid cash for the car and drove it away. He was a collector and some of the cars in his collection that he was telling me about were unbelievable. Picked him up at Edinburgh airport and gave him a road test by driving back to Hamilton where he was staying at services over night before driving down to get a custom exhaust fitted by Arden before heading home.
  7. And if their English isnt so good? If someone can explain to me how someone can fly into an airport with a bag full of cash and it still be a scam Id like to hear it. Counterfeit money?
  8. Only two roadsters on Autotrader in my price bracket, one in Hemel Hempstead at a traders, asked him to come down £150 and only willing to come down £90, has not tax so asked if they will put 6 months tax on it and I'll even pay full price and still hummed and hawed. So spoke to the other one which is a private sale, lady owner, needed her to come down about £300 and she agreed, has full years MOT, just done it's service, just done 72k miles, 6 months tax on it and she is based in Coventry but if it will help me she can drive it all the way up to her friends at Lancaster as I'll be driving down from Glasgow..... Getting a few photos sent to me tonight of the problem spot on the roof identified by SteveM so i don't have a wasted journey. So all looking good so far.... Wish I was picking it up tonight....
  9. I used to own a hardtop a couple of years ago. Put 50,000 miles on in my two years ownership. Only time I've been in a 350 convertible was Zmanalex on some passenger laps round knockhill so hardly gives me any basis of comparison when your going round a track faster than you think is humanely possible, holding onto the door handle for dear life
  10. Thanks SteveM, very concise answers. I am in exactly the same boat now, diesel barge for commuting during the week and this will only be used at weekends when weather is at least half decent. Never been in this position before, only ever owned one car and I would rack up the miles. Got the 370 a year past March with 800 miles on it and sold it last Thursday with 30k on it.....
  11. I must be going blind I could swear there is nothing there until you mentioned the Z
  12. Having never owned a convertible I was interested to know if any owners the same as myself who had got one regretted it... If the current Roadster owners had came on and said they would never get another one, or they wish they got a coupe when I would know to steer clear. Thanks for your concern though Just reading back my original post, how exactly would I know the answers to the questions I asked? So what I wanted to ask is what peoples opinions are of the roadster, is it a lot noisier? Do you lose any of the already small boot space with it being a convertible? Any other drawbacks to having a convertible than a coupe? Are the hoods usually in good condition or is there anything I should look out for that's a common fault?

  14. Now I can't find what I'm talking about Every advert I seem to look at don't have photo's with roof down....why when your selling a convertible would you not post photo's with roof down!!!!
  15. Quick question to current Roadster owners, I see some photo's of Roadsters with their hoods down and some show a little piece of glass which seems to come up just behind headrests but I wondered if this was an option and isn't standard on all Roadsters as I don't notice it in all photo's??
  16. PM me and tell me how much you would be willing to sell for with standard bonnet instead of the one in the photos? If your flexible on pricing you may have increased my shortlist to 3
  17. Thought there must be something fishy with the big price difference.
  18. Ive got two cars on my shortlist right now, emailed both owners with a couple of questions and to see if they can move on their price, one is a Kuro coupe with low miles and paintwork in the photo's is better than any Kuro I have ever seen and the other is a silver Roadster with average miles and if I could get them to come down 3-400 pounds I would buy it tomorrow...
  19. 100% percent agree that with roof up a Coupe is a million times nicer, but that opinion then flips when you take the roof down as roadster then looks by far the nicest. Her indoors is completely against a roadster so that will probably be my deciding factor in definitely getting a roadster after all
  20. Is this not the same car as there is a big price difference? http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/nissan-350-z-35-v6/1024225305
  21. Doubt he will be selling within my budget of £7k though....
  22. Also just seen one on here for sale and this bit interested in me, didn't realise these mods allowed 200mph? Engine: Intake = JWT Pop charger Plenum Spacer = Custom made from 350z forum Remap = Horsham Developments (remapped to 280bhp, delay in WOT removed, top speed moved to 200mph and averaged 2mpg more from correct air/fuel mapping) Exhaust: Catalytic Converter = Kinetix high flow cat Exhaust = Toyo Sports
  23. I seen a coupe which was previously a Cat D write off, he claims it was due to vandalism it was wrote off for previous owner, but it's a 56 plate 300 model with nice wheels and looks perfect and currently only at £5k. Would anyone recommend buying such a thing or steer clear of Cat write offs altogether?
  24. Seen that red one but it's not a GT. Won't entertain not buying a GT model. Why did they possibly make a convertible with cloth seats, not very easy to clean up a bird poo is it
