Chris Wiltshire Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) So after buying my first 350z in 2015 and then going onto buying a 370z in 2016 I have now gone and bought a GTR! I never thought I would own a GTR are 24 but after a lot of hard work and dedication its finally paid off. The 350z is now owned by my father and the 370z is owned by my other half which is pretty cool. Over the moon with the GTR, the power is addictive and the handling is awesome considering its size. Currently has full litchfield exhaust, updrated brakes, gearbox circlips and dodson syncros, 2015 rear lights and steering wheel, few carbon goodies inside Edited July 6, 2017 by Chris Wiltshire 8 Quote
valy Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 very nice indeed and the fact that the 350z and 370z stay in the family makes it a win win situation Quote
ash170990 Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Awesome mate! i really want one too, but the running costs scare me! definately on the list tho, enjoy it mate Quote
Kev Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 How much do these cost to run if you do around 4K miles a year? I'd use a independent garage for servicing not Nissan. Quote

Assuming nothing goes wrong, then your biggest costs are tyres (say £250 a corner), Discs (anything from £700 a pair UPWARDS), Pads (Front £450 pair, Rear - £350 pair). Annual servicing costs are not too bad apart from the big one at 60,000 somewhere in region of £650-£900 (replace brake hoses and transmission fluids). The most likely thing to need attention is the transmission on CBA (Non facelift) models. They can suffer from a reverse-first-reverse selection failure which is relatively easy to fix (but approx £4k). If you do get that problem DON'T ignore it! Selector forks WILL break and you could add a few more £k!!!! Def use one of the reputable independents for service/repairs! Apart from their level of knowledge generally being superior they will repair stuff that Nissan wont! For example go to Nissan with a transmission fault - "Certainly Sir that will be £18,000 please!" Kid you not -Nissan will NOT repair transmissions under ANY circumstances -they will only sell you a new one! You can buy good aftermarket warranty cover from some of the independents - about £1600 pa - but you could pocket that and "self insure". OK having said that - GET one and you will grin from ear to ear EVERY time you press that big red START button! Worth ever penny!! David Edited July 7, 2017 by Tinyflier 1 Quote
