Sargara Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) Don't get me wrong I love the car too but I wouldn't agree its the right choice for the job, there's a lot of diesel rep-mobiles and hot hatches out there that will easily keep up with it around speed limits and its not the easiest to quickly launch for traffic light grand-prix either. Even the coming Seat Leon Cupra trumps my DE having 290bhp and 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. But I wouldn't swap my beloved Zed for one. Not so long ago 280bhp was the reserve of the top turbocharged line ups from Japan.....Supra's, RX7's, Evo' and Gtr's! Edited July 3, 2016 by HEADPHONES 1
KUGT4 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) Don't make them thrash your poor Z having said that... had a fight with a scirocco recently kept behind me well enough (with a lot of revving on his part) and overtook me as I backed off and pulled in sadly though it appeared as if it went into 'limp' mode shortly afterwards as I drove past it further up oh dear... the Z had a little clutch burn - but survived Edited July 3, 2016 by KUGT4 1

Jetpilot Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 As Stevo points out, anything up the quarter mile in under 14 secs and 0-60 in under 6 is or never was considered slow, its just the game has moved on these days, launch control, fancy diffs and hot hatches/diesel rep mobiles all pushing towards or above 300 hp moves the goal posts, you just got to remember though our tech/design is 15 years old, so we are not doing too bad. 3
