  1. I should perhaps qualify my original post, at least to some extent. It was a lighthearted expression to do with ageing, being bitter and twisted and generally revelling in my new car and I thought it would go down rather differently to the way it has; that is my fault, as I didn't make myself sufficiently clear. It was not meant to be taken at all seriously. That said, please feel free to ban me if you see fit, admin; I take exception to transparent hypocrisy in any form, and anyone here who owns a Nissan 350Z or indeed any other high-performance car, and is without sin, is entitled to throw the first "don't drive like that" stone in my direction. It's your forum.
  2. To the contrary, I think that you are both stupid and pathetic: How lovely of you. Oh! and I forgot irresponsible as well. I've just noticed the embarrassingly high post count to your name; you're one of those self-appointed moral arbiters, aren't you? An armchair judge who sits and dispenses the iron-clad fist of justice to all before you from the cosy anonymity of the internet. I wish I could be perfect. Like you. I think you might find he's taking the PI55 mate If he is, then I stand corrected, but I would be surprised.

  5. I know, I know, you're all absolutely correct! PS I've chosen my targets wisely; I may be pathetic but I'm not stupid.
  6. I spend a lot of time just tooling around in my Zed, and since I got it, I've been unable to resist trolling young lads in hot hatches and then smoking them when they bite. I am a 50 year old man. It's pathetic.
  7. I'm afraid my view is that such a distinctly personal car will prove difficult to sell, and the closer to the original spec you can make it, the better your chances. I'm only a very recent Z owner, but I think this principle applies to everything of substantial value, whatever is being sold, from cars to guitars.
  8. Thanks a lot man, I assumed Croft would certainly be the nearest but I didn't know they could supply instructors too.
  9. As the title says If anyone has any actual experience of paying for an instructor on a track in North-East England, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Cheers all
  10. In a straight line - in the wet - you can feel the wheels spinning through your seat and the rear end squirms a bit and it frankly feels awesome
  11. Was it wet? Mine wheelspins in 2nd and 3rd under hard acceleration when it's wet and the sensation is not unlike what you describe.
  12. I feel the same, either because I'm just so precious about it or I'm worried some mollusc will key it. Or both
  13. Few pics in my intro thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/109151-got-my-first-zed/page__st__20#entry1634357 No plans to mod although I have researched 3rd party exhausts. Would like a bit more rasp, and was looking at a japspeed k2 but I read too many reports about non-stock exhausts being annoying on the motorway.
  14. After a little over 3 weeks with my 350z, I'm shocked at how much of my time and attention it's still taking. I drive it whenever I can, and sometimes when I can't drive it, I find myself wishing I could. I've noticed other road users are kind to me, which I wasn't expecting. Everyone I know loves it. The jealous ones always open the conversation with "bet that's not very good on fuel", to which I reply no, of course it isn't; it's a 3.5 litre V6 sports car. They then shut up, every time. It feels so special and is so satisfying. What a car. I love it.
  15. Hi folks, hope this is the right forum to ask - can anyone suggest a realistic value for the Bose 6 CD head unit that came out of my 2009 GT please? I want to sell if I can get a few quid back. Cheers

  17. Thanks for the warm welcome and kind comments. It's taken me more time to get used to this car than any other of my experience, especially with regard to the gear change and clutch. I'm pretty smooth at pulling away now, but I've had a fair few stalls and juddery lurches along the way! On Friday I'm having fitted a Pioneer digital receiver with CarPlay, DAB and satnav. Although I've never modified a car before, I'm already looking at the idea of an aftermarket exhaust, something to subtly enhance the already awesome sounds the car makes. I love the thing more every day. Here's the interior - I like this colour very much, and it was one of the reasons I bought this particular car. Cheers
  18. Well folks, I got a Zed A couple of pics in my thread in the Introductions forum, if you're interested.
  19. Hi folks Posted here a few weeks ago asking if anyone had moved from an MX5 to the 350z; I've had 2 Mk1 Mazdas and was about to buy a Mk 3, when for some reason the 350z found its way into my awareness. I picked my car up on Monday, a 2009 GT with 32500 miles, in excellent condition overall and with a pale leather interior that isn't quite cream and isn't quite grey. Jesus Horatio, what a car. I am in love with it beyond all reason; I like to hold it in second on city streets just to hear that snarl. I love the deliberate solidity to all the controls and I love the way it demands your attention. The wave of torque is so addictive, the speed and eagerness make me giggle out loud. The MX5 is a great, great car, but this is my first true performance car and I literally cannot stop driving it. How long before this wears off?! I think the 350z found me, and not the other way around. I mean it.
  20. Yes I think I will. But do I also need the Bluetooth adapter?
  21. Hi folks Sorry to start another thread but I'm picking my new car up on Monday and would really like to order whatever it is I need today. It's a 2009 GT which doesn't have a bluetooth adapter fitted. I've been recommended a Belkin FM transmitter to play music through, but I need to know if I also have to buy a bluetooth adapter, both to allow the Belkin to work and to make calls. Any help gratefully received. Cheers
  22. Thanks - so do I need to buy a Bluetooth adapter as well as the Belkin?
  23. Thanks for the recommendation, I like the look of that. The car I'm getting is a 2009 model with GT trim, but doesn't have a Bluetooth adapter fitted. I'm confused - does this mean the car is bluetooth capable, but I have to buy a piece of kit to plug in? Will this Belkin Tunecast do that job too, or do I need to buy the adapter as well? Thanks for the help.
  24. Hi Will shortly be owner of a GT spec 350. What's a good basic head unit that will allow music to play from my iPhone, either wired or Bluetooth, through the existing bose system? Thanks a lot
  25. Thanks folks, some really good replies I seem to have developed a borderline obsession with the 350z over the last week or so, but I am nothing if not fickle and changeable. By this time next week, I might be committed to buying a 3rd MX5 after all. There's no question that if money were no object, it would be a 350, but money definitely is a big consideration. I'm an old fart, and learned long ago that if a thing takes up too much of your disposable, it ceases to be a pleasure. It all hangs on the sale of my VW Campervan, which I listed on eBay classified tonight. Whatever I get for it will determine to a large extent what my next car will be. Take care y'all
