  1. Hi mate, sometimes the screws holding in the pad stops are badly corroded and are very difficult to remove. If the screw snaps then the calliper is finished so watch and not break it in. The calliper will not rust but oxidization of the calliper under the pad stop may cause the plate to rise slightly causing the pad to become a tight fit. Perhaps a slight tap with a small light hammer would reinstate the plate to its original position. Buffing off a very light edge from the pad top and bottom area where you are having the issue is common practice within the motortrade. Refurbing or replacing the calliper is an extreme measure and a cost that is not really required mate. But if you want an exchange calliper from me then these are available next day, but best replaced in pairs. I assume we are talking front callipers here............ Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Alex.
  2. There are not a lot of oil pipes immediately above the oil filter. There are two breather pipes coming off the oil filter sandwich plate and that is about it. The PAS pump is further up, above the alternator but that does not mean to say that PAS fluid would not find its way down to the filter area. If your car is a JDM with auto gearbox then there are two oil pipes that run along the area just above the oil filter.
  3. Also very glad that it was not on the Zed.
  4. Great pictures Vicky/Gary, the location brings back fond memories to me.
  5. Hi and to the forum. Good luck with the search.
  6. The pad stops are all the same thickness and they will not move if the torque screws are tight. Must be a build up of stuff on the plates or calliper, give it a good scrape to remove any residue and the pad should fall in. Remember that there is a plate top and bottom for each pad.
  7. The "blue" plates are only basically pad stops. If you are using genuine Ferodo DS2500 pads then there should be no fitment issues. If the pistons are fully back then the issue must be rust or grime. Perhaps removing the black paint off the top and bottom of the pad backing (red area) might help. Alex.
  8. If the oil is indeed less than that recommended, then an extremely serious complaint.
  9. I have got these RS 722's available, brand new and boxed. £1500.00 More pictures if required. Cheers, Alex.
  10. Available pm for details.. Cheers, Alex.
  11. From cold the dip stick will give you an accurate indication of the amount of oil in the sump if carried out properly on a level surface. If you are uncomfortable with the readings then drain the oil and start again. The VQ 35 DE takes 4.4 litres without filter and 4.7 with, providing that you are on stock sump. If the oil light comes on it is to late. Many a VQ35 DE engine has been wrecked by the misconception of "that is time to put oil in when the oil warning light comes on". Alex.

  15. Hi Andy and to the forum. The Bose issue is very common and will be fixed under warranty if your car is still covered if not it will still be worth asking as it is a known fault and subject to recall. Alex.
  16. Hi Chris and to the forum, lots of Scots on here. I am based in Perth but there are a few in Edinburgh and many from Strathclyde, Perthshire, Tayside, Fife and Aberdeenshire. Good luck with the search for a suitable car.

  19. That is not the offset number mate. The size of offset will determine how far out the wheel sits. The offset number for the front will also probably be different from the rear. It should be stamped on the inside of the rims. Your speedo should not be affected mate.
  20. Depends on the offsets regarding your rubbing query. Your speedo can not be recalibrated.
