Karl, The official Nissan charge out time for plug replacement is 1.4 hours. This time applies to the whole 350Z range and also the 370Z Alex.

I have done a few, which basically only involved swopping out the rods which are screwed into either side of the rack. An easier fix is just to swop out the complete steering rack with a preowned one. I have a low mileage preowned rack available if you wish to go this route.
