  1. Anyone reccommend good indi garage in N. ireland - greater Lisburn/Belfst area preferable but will travel further if means getting good service. My 350 is due its 27k miles service so P3 I think - Nissan dealer is charging £250 - does that sound expensive? What is the average cost for a p1/2 and 3 - my car has been serviced on mileage rather than age (its 03) so I think the previous oner done a full service @ 18kmiles 2 years ago - thiswill be its first service since then under my ownership. Any advice much appreciated...
  2. Yeah, found an assembly diagram online and it looks like a flange joint between pipe from back box and center box connection pipe. The flange has corroded off the back box pipe. So yeah think I'll look to get it welded if poss but know its short term fix. Would I need a complete back box and centre piiece if this joint if failed?... Cheers
  3. Update - just got to take a look underneath and it looks like the bracket joining the left hand pipe just behind the backbox is the problem. Would it just be a replacement bracket needed?...
  4. Cheers, thanks for the info. Don't fancy spending £800 so may look into those aftermarket ones you listed. I've actually got some stuff of ZMANALEX (upgraded rear LED lights) and he was spot on to deal with so thanks for pointing me his direction. Just need to find now which section needs replaced - is it an easy enough job fitting - any guides on here? Thanks
  5. Hi I've a '03 350z GT (all original parts with 25k miles). The exhaust has just started blowing out and havent had a chance to take look underneath buy just have a few queries before I take it so repair and get fleeced as I no nothing about the exaust system:- 1. Is it a one piece unit or does it come in sections 2. Which sections tend to go - given mileage/age of car etc 3. How much for replacement system - not looking a fancy upgrade, just want good replacement part 4. Any recommendation of supplier or anyone on this site supply at good price (i'm in N.Ireland - Belfast area). Any help much appreciated. Cheers...
  6. Hi, I posted a problem with my electric windows last month viewtopic.php?f=9&t=32105 I've found my door sensor switches are sticky and intend to replace as a start. But from reading the various posts on similar probs there seems to be a few options, the main one being the widow reset. I'm happy to give it a go as a last resort but also read someone thought there was a reset procedure which worked by disconnecting battery or something without having to taking door skin off which I'd love to avoid doing! Has anyone with this specific issue of the window not automatically dropping when opening the door got it working again using one of these DIY fixes, preferably where not dismantleling the door!. I know when I open my door when the glass doesnt drop if I manually press the door sensor switch on door pillar I can hear the click of the relay but the glass doesnt drop and I mannually press the glass and drops a cm or so - the glass reseals fine when door closed again and all other electric functions on the window is fine. The stealers are wanting me to book car in and are suggesting its prob regulator/motor or BCM unit and could cost £500 fitted!! - so thats why I and to replacy the sensor switches as a start. Any help much appreciayted as always... Cheers
  7. Cheers guys, I'll try locating the sensor on the door pillar and greasing it up and get some of that gummi pflege. No coincidence that it started after one of the really cold freezes and my door was fairly well froze shut, when deiced with warm water the door still took a bit of effort to come free from the rubber seal. Anyway hope that sorts it. Cheers...
  8. Ever since the very cold weather at Christmas I've had a problem with my electric windows. The problem is that when I open the door, the window doesn't drop the wee bit so now when the door is closed the glass catches the door frame instead of closing and the window automatically raising fully up!. It happens on both the driver and passenger doors - sometinmes i am able to manually push the glass down the cm or so and when the door closes it seals properly. So far the window up/down operation works fine, its just the automatic drop/return when opening and closing the door. Is this a sensor problem or a motor problem and is it easily fixed? - I'm consious that Im doing the window/dororframe paint damage when the window cant be pushed down. Any help/advice on this would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks
  9. Hi, I'm needing a drivers side indicator light unit, the one mounted on the wing of the car not the main headlight. The plastic clips on mine have broke (just recently got car) and the unit is basically just sitting it the hole - quite often when coming back from a spin the light is hanging out of the socket like an eyeball which aint a good look!!. If anyone has one give me a shout before I resort to Mr Nissan. Cheers
  10. Sounds like good value - will have to raid the piggybank again me thinks!! I take it it uses the same electrical connections ie not changing the wiring or anything, just a straight plug-in job? Cheers
  11. Thanks for the replies fellas. Yeah my cars an 03 model - would be v tempted with converting to LED rear lights but I've spent my budget getting the car in the first place but out of curiosity how much roughly is an LED conversion and is it a straight swap? I checked the light and can't find a crack in it anywhere (though I'll check more closely again) - the silicon might be the way to go while I save my pennies for LED's - where can you buy the silicon bags, I just dumped a few old trainer boxes and the like which had loads of them, doh! cheers
  12. Hi, my zed has heavy condensation in passenger side taillight so I was wondering if this was a common problem and is there a known 'fix'. I presume I'll have to take the taillight out and try to dry it out and check where water entering, is it easy to do - Ive been through the guides section and cant find anything Re taillight removal procedure. Any advice on how to do it is much appreciated as I dont have a service manual for the car. Cheers
  13. Thanks for the replies guys - looks like its unanimous to go with the best available. Taken on board... Cheers
  14. After months of looking I finally bought my zed and am totally chuffed with it . I've a question over which fuel to run it on for 'normal' everyday use. I know the manual says to use 98ron - obviously its probably best to put in the best quality super unleaded you can but my problem is only a few garages near me do superunleaded which is only 97ron and I've already got caught out and had to put in standard 95ron unleaded on one visit. I just want to know if its ok to run the car on standard 95 ron unleaded for normal use - I've heard that you may have some performance loss but will not cause any actual engine damage since most newer cars engine management adjust firing to prevent the knocking, is this true? Also have read that using standard 95ron with an octane booster additive is good too. Anyone any advice for best ways to run the zed for normal day to day use. Basically I'd like to keep fuel cost down but not at the expense of any possible engine damage since the car I got has good low mileage. If was doing a track day or fast run I'd obviously want to be using the highest ron super unleaded. Cheers
