PM received and replied to.
Unfortunately fresh out of preowned rust free "W" braces.

Lub the knuckle with WD40 or similar and scrub the splines with a wire brush
Lock the steering wheel from turning.
Remove both bolts from the knuckle.
Gently slightly prise open the slots in the knuckle.
Knock the knuckle up the steering column shaft until it clears the rack.
Then knock the knuckle downwards and remove the knuckle.
Reassembly is the opposite of above.
Do not use excessive force when knocking the knuckle up the shaft.
Make sure that you lock the steering as you will damage the clock spring if you turn the steering column when disconnected from the rack.

It may be the servo as well as many other things, however you are only guessing.
Why don't you get a specialist to check your car to get an informed diagnoses.
Servos, actuators and all parts to fix this issue are in stock and good to go same/next day.

Further to my previous post.
If the car suddenly stopped with a horrible noise and the engine will not turn over by hand, by that I mean using a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt or put in 5h gear and with handbrake off rock the car to see it the engine turns.
If there is no movement you may have a seized engine.
