  1. Yes, always wise to give the hydraulic system a prime if the system has run dry. Alex
  2. If the coolant level was good prior to starting your lap of the ring then could be thermostat, head gasket or radiator blockage. Usually the head gasket would blow only after excessive temp was reached, however not always. I am surprised that you did not slow down as the temp started to climb on the gauge until waiting until you roasted it. I would fill and bleed the coolant system properly as per the Nissan manual and then carry out your informed diagnoses. If there is no oil in the coolant or any coolant in the oil you may have got lucky, however like TR I suspect that it may be the head gasket. Alex.
  3. 6mm x 1.5 if I recall. You will get them out of B&Q or any decent hardware store but take a sample with you to save multiple journeys. Alex.
  4. Just go to Nissan with your 5 digit key number and they will cut a blank for you, thereafter you will have to get the alarm/immobilizer sorted depending on what model you have. Alex.
  5. A little bit of carefully applied heat will do the job or simply just replace them. Alex.

    Help ASAP

Was this before or after you swopped out the IPDM and the BCM ? If after, I would check that the fan motors are working, in fact I would check out the fan motors irrespective. Alex.
  7. Stuart, there are tests and procedures to check out a starter motor, however it may be a plan just to remove the starter motor and bench test it. Guaranteed fully working pre-owned starter motors are in stock if required. Alex.

  9. The fuel pump is in the tank Daryl and is behind the driver's seat mate. Alex.
  10. There are no O rings, only oil seals which are part of the cover, however you will have to replace the gaskets if you remove the cover as they form a seal between the cover and the head. You have a leaking oil seal in this instance. Alex.
  11. You have an oil seal failure, however the seals are integrated with the cam cover. Solution is to replace the cam cover or live with it as it should not develop into an issue. Alex.
  12. to the forum. You will have plenty change left over with your 10K budget for a 2005/2006 model: Alex.
  13. All 350Z cars have traction which you can partially switch off if you wish. Mines is permanently off. as I find it a more pleasurable driving experience. Alex.
