  1. Great, that was really useful. Thanks guys
  2. Hi guys, I'm having a bit of an issue with my HR 350Z and wondered if someone might be able to give some advice. Last weekend the clutch pedal in the Z went straight to the floor when I went to start it. I looked under the car and saw a big patch of fluid almost directly under the engine. I look the car to a garage and they think both the master and slave are gone and need replacing. They've tried topping up the system but they can't get the pedal back up. Does this sound right to you? My suspicion is its probably just the master cylinder and clutch line that need replacing. They say it's going to be a big job to take the gearbox out and change the slave but it doesnt seem likely that both cylinders would have gone at the same time. What are your thoughts? Thank you Baz
  3. I tried it at low speed and it doesn't seem to happen. Tried it around 60 and it pulls very slightly to the left. I'm wondering does the road surface effect the braking? Because I noticed it very badly on an old B road.
  4. Oh and I haven't tried braking hard without my hands on the wheel but I imagine it wouldn't end well.
  5. Okay, I've checked the nuts and the tyre pressure. Both are good. Yes I bedded in the braked properly. Bodyboarder, I think you're right. I'm going to book in a brake bleed and alignment just to be on the safe side. Hope its not the brake pistons...
  6. Hi guys, I've noticed a lot today that under heavy braking my Z tries to swerve. I can feel the wheel trying to turn and it feels like the balance is shifting back and fourth between the tyres and I'm having to fight to keep in straight. This is only under heavy braking mind. I upgraded the brakes about 4 months ago to EBC grooved discs + yellow stuff pads - they have a lot of stopping power to them. I'm wondering are the brakes too powerful for the tyres? In other words, are the tyres struggling to grip to the extent that the brakes can stop? The tyres are Avon Z225s and they've got about 3-4mm of thread depth left. Or maybe its an alignment issue? Thanks
  7. Taking my baby to the Isle of White this summer. Not much of a road trip but should be great fun all the same!
  8. Hey guys I've been loving my 2009 Z, had it for about 6 months now. There's one thing that I find quite strange and I'm not sure why this is so. When I drive the Z with traction control on, which is most of the time, the car feels fine. When I turn off traction control the car literally feels like a different animal all together - the gear changes seem smoother, the car seems to accelerate a bit quicker and general responsiveness seems to improve quite a bit. Granted it also tries to kill me in corners but other than its a very different driving experience. Does anybody else find this? I thought the whole point of TC was simply to detect when the wheels are starting to slip, cutting power before you end up backwards in a hedge somewhere. Is it doing something else too? Cheers!
  9. Haha yes that's pretty much what I did
  10. Thanks mate, I'll give it a shot.
  11. Sorry, this was meant to be in the 350Z section.
  12. Hi All, I was installing some new rear brake and rotors to the Z and don't ask me how it happened but one of the pistons in the calliper popped out! How do I get it back in without damaging the caliper? I tried pressing it back in but the piston seal isn't seated properly. Anyone got an ideas? Thanks
  13. Installed a new knob and gaiter to replace the original worn out ones, what do you think? Also plasti dipped the switch panel, and scratched it already :'(
  14. I'm looking for a multimedia system for the Z, has anyone got one of these? If so what are your opinions on it. Cheers
  15. Hi Mate, I'll take the Haynes book off you for £10 if you want. Thanks
