Hi guys, I'm having a bit of an issue with my HR 350Z and wondered if someone might be able to give some advice. Last weekend the clutch pedal in the Z went straight to the floor when I went to start it. I looked under the car and saw a big patch of fluid almost directly under the engine. I look the car to a garage and they think both the master and slave are gone and need replacing. They've tried topping up the system but they can't get the pedal back up. Does this sound right to you? My suspicion is its probably just the master cylinder and clutch line that need replacing. They say it's going to be a big job to take the gearbox out and change the slave but it doesnt seem likely that both cylinders would have gone at the same time. What are your thoughts? Thank you Baz

I tried it at low speed and it doesn't seem to happen. Tried it around 60 and it pulls very slightly to the left. I'm wondering does the road surface effect the braking? Because I noticed it very badly on an old B road.

Oh and I haven't tried braking hard without my hands on the wheel but I imagine it wouldn't end well.

Okay, I've checked the nuts and the tyre pressure. Both are good. Yes I bedded in the braked properly. Bodyboarder, I think you're right. I'm going to book in a brake bleed and alignment just to be on the safe side. Hope its not the brake pistons...

Hi guys, I've noticed a lot today that under heavy braking my Z tries to swerve. I can feel the wheel trying to turn and it feels like the balance is shifting back and fourth between the tyres and I'm having to fight to keep in straight. This is only under heavy braking mind. I upgraded the brakes about 4 months ago to EBC grooved discs + yellow stuff pads - they have a lot of stopping power to them. I'm wondering are the brakes too powerful for the tyres? In other words, are the tyres struggling to grip to the extent that the brakes can stop? The tyres are Avon Z225s and they've got about 3-4mm of thread depth left. Or maybe its an alignment issue? Thanks

Anyone planning any road trips this summer?

Taking my baby to the Isle of White this summer. Not much of a road trip but should be great fun all the same! -
Hey guys I've been loving my 2009 Z, had it for about 6 months now. There's one thing that I find quite strange and I'm not sure why this is so. When I drive the Z with traction control on, which is most of the time, the car feels fine. When I turn off traction control the car literally feels like a different animal all together - the gear changes seem smoother, the car seems to accelerate a bit quicker and general responsiveness seems to improve quite a bit. Granted it also tries to kill me in corners but other than its a very different driving experience. Does anybody else find this? I thought the whole point of TC was simply to detect when the wheels are starting to slip, cutting power before you end up backwards in a hedge somewhere. Is it doing something else too? Cheers!

Haha yes that's pretty much what I did

Thanks mate, I'll give it a shot.

Sorry, this was meant to be in the 350Z section.

Hi All, I was installing some new rear brake and rotors to the Z and don't ask me how it happened but one of the pistons in the calliper popped out! How do I get it back in without damaging the caliper? I tried pressing it back in but the piston seal isn't seated properly. Anyone got an ideas? Thanks

Installed a new knob and gaiter to replace the original worn out ones, what do you think? Also plasti dipped the switch panel, and scratched it already :'(

I'm looking for a multimedia system for the Z, has anyone got one of these? If so what are your opinions on it. Cheers

Hi Mate, I'll take the Haynes book off you for £10 if you want. Thanks
-
Haha okay. Whats wrong with the HEL lines?
-
Okay so after trying to get the best balance between value and performance I've put this shopping list together: 2 x silolene brake fluid Hel brake lines DS2500 Front and Rear EBC Ultimax Front and Rear Is this about right?

Hey guys One thing I haven't been particularly impressed with since getting my car is the brakes. Got a 58 plate HR Z. Its got the brembos but in relation to the speed and acceleration of the car, I don't think they're that great. I was thinking about taking off the stock pads and swapping them for the DS2500s. Will this change alone make a significant improvement over the stocks? Thanks

How much do you have to spend a tescos to get 20p a litre off?

I saw that car yesterday around junction 13, southbound

Thanks guys, yep I'm loving her. I'm planning to get the alloys refurbished next week as they've got a few scuffs, and I'm considering getting her UpRev remapped. My only concern is I struggle to get smooth gear changes in first and second ( and first is a little stiff), which is really annoying in stop and start traffic. I've heard this is a common thing with the Z. I'm going to try giving her a fresh gear oil change this weekend to see if that helps a bit. But other that that I'm very happy with her

Hey guys, After lurking around this place for long enough I finally took the plunge and got a Z... and I love her

But I thought the last lot of 350zs manufactured in 09 had the gt4 wheels too? Unless the ones on the car arn't gt4s... Yeah its got the bonnet hump and double intake.
-
Haha, yeah it's definitely an HR. How can it be a DE if its 2009? Also, JetSet how do you know it's an Irish import?
-
Yeah you're right. Shall definitely enjoy it (not the tank filling up part though).
