  1. to the forum. Back to the dealer for hopefully a warranty fix.
  2. The gate is adjustable, however I doubt if that is the issue.
  3. Before you even consider replacing the bushings, you will have to make sure that the ball joints are okay as they only come with the new compression rods (banana arm) Always good to get the geometry settings checked. Yes, definitely DIY doable, just drop me a PM if you require any further guidance. Alex.
  4. It is always Dave from L & G that always phones me. So I guess that he is your man.
  5. Nice one Will, thank you: Ant: PM received and replied to. Alex.
  6. Of course the numbers will be higher with the addition of more oil, however that does not get away from the fact that irretrievable damage has been done to your motor which may not be evident at this moment of time but will raise its ugly head in the future.
  7. Total + any other parts that you decide to swop out when you are in there. Add another £700.00 for a clutch and fly.
  8. The answer to this question is in post #21 Do you not read your replies ?
  9. Have a read in the guides section to get most of your answers. to the forum.
  10. Perhaps, but it may be a ticking time bomb. Once you have the oil level sorted, will you be confident enough to give it some beans ??? Considering what you have signed and with no written warranty then I think that you are unfortunately shafted mate.
  11. Perhaps he reads this forum: Sounds like a result. Let us all know when the repayment hits your account.
  12. Not a lot of checks can be done without stripping the motor and checking the bearings etc. which is not cost effective or practical at this stage. My comments are based upon what potential damage may have been done by running the engine with very little oil in it. If I went to view a 350Z and I found that the oil was off the dip stick or the oil light came on when cornering or braking, I would walk and keep walking. There are plenty proper cars out there so why buy a potential pup. 99% of VQ35DE motor failures are due to lack of oil. However the car has been bought, so that now has to be dealt with and if that means rejecting the car or filling it with oil and keeping your fingers and toes crossed then so be it.
  13. What Chris has said ^^^ As regards what I would do, I would return the car for a full refund. But this may be easier said than done after reading the terms of the transaction. Was this a private purchase or a garage "trade purchase" ? How did you pay for the car ? I would take legal advice and then make an informed decision. IMHO topping up the oil will only disguise the issue.
  14. As in my previous post, the damage will be done, although it may not show at present, but will probably raise its ugly head in 1 week, 1 month or even 1 year, when you will probably have to stick in a second hand engine at a cost of circa £2000.00. Just making you aware of the potential costs as I do not think that you are grasping the seriousness of the situation.
  15. If push comes to shove then I am sure that an independent engineers report would support any rejection. Just depends on how difficult the garage wants to be and how the motor was paid for and also how assertive the OP wants to be.
  16. I would reject the car now. You will find that the oil level with be at the bottom of the dip stick and the damage will have been done, although perhaps not evident at the moment. Shame on any garage who turns out a car without sufficient oil in it. I would not add any oil as you then may have a problem proving your claim. Do not drive the car. Reject it NOW by phone and email and then in writing.
  17. I run Ecutek on my GT-R. and have 4 maps. Remote tuning is a God send. Speak to the guys you have mentioned in your post. Alex.
  18. As what Dan and Darren has said above. Never quite understood why peeps polish these plenums as they are a mare to keep cosmetically pleasing to the eye..
  19. You have to replace the complete tensioner pulley. Fully working low mileage, noise free pre-owned are in stock and good to go same/next day. Just drop me a PM if I can help further. Alex.
  20. If you reverse the wiring the fans will work in the opposite direction, you will soon know as you will get blown over as you walk past the front of the car. Don't know what you have done wrong. Check that you are getting feed to both by using a meter. Also go back to your supplier and ask for a wiring diagram, however the one provided in this thread is correct providing you understand that it is for a USA LHD. Alex.
  21. Oh Yesssss, providing it is at the right price. Keep in mind that it is an 11 year old car and the guy appears to have spent a fortune putting/keeping it right. Still plenty more to go wrong with it though, but still worth a punt.
  22. Thanks Alex, what would i expect to get from those, 12500 miles Yes, if you are not tracking it. I have done 3000 miles in 18 months with a new R35 and 2000 will have been track miles. I am just about to put on my 5th set of tyres. On my 6th set of pads and 2nd set of rotors. Done 10 engine oil and filter changes and 5 tranny fluid changes and 2 diff. Alex. So a set of tyres and pads is effectively returning 500 miles give or take with track use, thats obscene! Any reason why, weight? Weight obviously does not help, however 500 miles can equate to circa 400 laps depending on the circuit, so do the maths. Yes FUN can be extremely expensive. I was at Knockhill today and completed 140 laps, regularly turning in sub 57 second laps and used 150 litres of fuel in the process. First job tomorrow is car on ramp and a complete after track strip down of the brakes for inspection and replace as required. Also a fluid change for brakes, engine, gearbox and diff.
