  1. Because they're too expensive for a day, should only be £150 max. ;) I have no idea, seems odd. You're sure they were okay on the new forum originally?
  2. Either at work in the office on the laptop, or in front of the TV on the iPad. Or currently at home I'm ripping all my BDs and DVDs to the NAS.
  3. Shoould be checking oil at least once a week, maybe once a fortnight at the most.
  4. Mine never used that much at all, but that seemed to be the exception rather than the rule with the revup.
  5. FFS you didn't get shafted! You got many quotes, they were all the same price, that is what is know as THE GOING RATE FOR THE WORK YOU REQUIRE IN YOUR AREA. It's not bleedin' rocket science, and even by your own admission you'd have been happy to pay £300 for the work just as long as he took two days to do it. That's utterly moronic, and there's no way in hell I believe you for one second when you say that you'd have paid him more if he'd have taken longer. No-one would. The price is the price. You may slip him and extra tenner, but you wouldn't give him another £150. Next time, I suggest you just do it yourself if you don't like the price quoted. If you didn't like it, then more fool you for accepting it.
  6. Ah come on, you know how I feel about mixing tyres! I wouldn't, even more so at higher speeds on track.
  7. How many quotes for the laminate laying did you actually get? And what were they?
  8. Never heard of it, so just had a look. Very interesting tread pattern, and by looking at it I'd say it would give better dry grip than the other 2 at the expense of wet grip. *EDIT* Just had a look around and the consensus is that that's correct. Check the PH thread on them. If they were going on a set of purely track wheels, I'd give them a punt for sure. If for road use as well, I think I'd stick with the more usable 888s.
  9. http://www.350z-uk.c...-my-spare-time/ Sorry i work 12 hours sat and sun but get paid 42 hours. Yeah, I hate people who take stuff out of context too, so my apologies for that. Basically you're saying that it's perfectly okay for you to make 100% more than you normally would for working a weekend, but if anyone else does it then they're a crook? Nope, I'm not having that.
  10. But why? If it's the going rate, then that's all there is to it. I'm crap with wood (fnar), and couldn't ever hope to have the skill of a basic joiner/chippy. They probably wouldn't want to put their hands in sewage like I'm happy to do.
  11. It's not great. Get yourself a Scorpion if you're on a budget, almost identical but a much better product.
  12. Responsibility! Fair enough. So where do you stand on gas fitters? They have a responsibility too, as if they get it wrong they could kill far more in one go than the single person a surgeon could. Actually, following on from this leads to some clever ideas. A general in the army should be paid shedloads, they've got the responsibility of thousands of men's lives in their hands. Or take it to the nth degree and you come to the inevitable conclusion that the best paid man in the world should be the head of China.
  13. It's important because that's the whole basis of your entire argument, that what someone does dictates exactly what they're worth. If you're so sure about that, put your head above the parapet and give some details.
  14. Responsibility! Fair enough. So where do you stand on gas fitters? They have a responsibility too, as if they get it wrong they could kill far more in one go than the single person a surgeon could.
  15. I'd love to know his job title, but he's being mysteriously secretive about that.
