  1. No, you cannot forward date the tax. You'll have to queue up with the plebs on the 1st with the new keeper supplement I'm afraid. At least, AFAIK.
  2. Meh, they don't really have a choice. They either repair or refund at this point, although they may well surprise you and sort everything out amicably, albeit slowly
  3. No need to remove the engine cover, just a photo of the bonnet up would be good to see. If you've got the paperwork, you're laughing.
  4. Post-natal abortion. It's the way forward for idiots who believe stuff like this. Bloody mongtards. And then they compound their mistake by actually admitting to it on the interweb! Sorry, what was that you were saying again Graham?
  5. The tax band is set when the car is registered: As yours was done after March 2006, you'll pay whatever the rate is for the emissons, so the £460 or whatever it is will not change regardless of what you do. Even if it was a 309 car, you'd still be paying that. You have no comeback there, so don't waste your time. Against the dealer, it's a different story. Unless you have that it's a 309 car in writing (On the invoice? On an email enquiry?), I suspect that the law will not find in your favour if it went to court as on the balance of probabilities, it's likely the dealer did not tell you that it was a 309 car. I'm not calling you a liar, in fact I completely believe you, however I suspect a judge will not. As such, you're very much reliant on the dealership themselves to reimburse you maybe £1500 tops for your woes, but I'm guessing you'll be pissing up the wind here. What I would do is pop down and see them, and hopefully the same sales guy is there. Ask him if he remembers you, get him to confirm that you asked for a 309 car in casual conversation, then get him to inspect yours along with one of the techs and then the ball should drop. At that point, you've kinda got him over a barrel. Do it all friendly like, as if you've just popped in for a chat, and give him enough rope to hang himself with. If you go in all b=guns blazing you'll get nowhere, as they'll just close ranks.
  6. I was expecting this:
  7. Oh I dunno, if a main dealer tells you something then it's probably reasonable to believe it. Terrible if they did, though. Unless you've got it in writing...
  8. Top choice fella Mate of mine has the same car (SMG convertible) in Estoril, great fun to drive.
  9. Possibly, or they may just be very busy. Not a great excuse, I know, but plausible. Ian's right though, start making notes of days and times of things, you may need them.
  10. That wasn't my question. What I'm trying to get at it is how quickly you went back to the garage, as that could help or hinder you should you need to take this further. Again, is this the first time you mentioned it to them? Bearing in mind it's still under warranty, why did you not go back to them sooner? You went to the effort of asking here and going to CS, so clearly it was bothering you.
  11. Yeah, it's definitely not if it doesn't have two intakes. You've been sold a duffer there matey, sorry. Pic of the engine bay?
  12. I'm not splitting hairs, I'm being correct. It's no different to saying "My car had alloys fitted to it", when you really mean that you had put some aftermarket wheels on. We shouldn't except people being wrong as the norm, especially with terminology.
  13. I'd say your pretty safe. Is this the first time you've brought the matter to their attention? If not, why did you not do so earlier? Not trying to be a pain, I'm just asking the same questions you'll be asked in court.
  14. But they're still coilovers, are they not? As in a coil over a damper?
  15. How long ago did you purchase it? What does CS think the problem is?
  16. I like Vettel, both as a person and as a driver. Whilst I think he makes some dubious choices behind the wheel at times, from what I've seen of him on the tellybocks he comes across really well, and as someone who takes life a little less seriously than most. His talent is almost peerless really, and for sure that could change a person, but he seems about as normal as anyone could be in his place. Irritatingly, Alcocko is also going up in my opinion lately as well. Now he seems to have some balls and criticise Ferrari openly as well as saying that he'd go back to McLaren now that Ron has gone, he's altogether much more likeable.
  17. Pretty sure that all S2000s are on coilovers, are they not? A lot of it is to do with the geo of the cars, as well as the suspension setup. The later cars also moved to decent rubber, as well as bigger and heavier wheels. They're not a particularly snappy or bad-handling car, but much like the CGT you have to know what you're doing with regards to setup to get the most out of them.
  18. I always thought owners of the older cars were swingers

    Alpha 4C

I prefer the Alfa. Also, the lights are so hideous I would never ever contemplate owning one.
  20.
  21. Source? That's a spectacularly poor lap in the Exige S. No chance one of those is only a second slower round the Ring than a Zed!
  22. Kinda what I was thinking. Unless that wasn't what he meant, of course.
  23. Only 1.57M copies sold in the UK, though. Not really that far ahead of the previous best-selling game, BLOPS2 at 1.41M.
  24. And with the missus out of the room. She gets awfully narky if I crack one out in front of her.
