  1. I've read the whole thread, and I'll copy my opinion that I posted on a different forum. It's an interesting point, and I'd love to hear Chaucer's side of things as well as the full judgement, the latter of which I suspect we'll never see sadly. My view is this: 1) The Cat driver has suffered here as much as anyone, with his excess having had to have been paid. Fair play, he knew the risk when he signed the insurance policy, but he's got to be around £2K out of pocket at this point. 2) The Civic driver should NEVER have apologised. Biggest mistake. 3) The Civic driver should've coughed up for a solicitor. Second biggest mistake. I believe that the judge was probably correct on this one, regardless of my personal feelings towards things. Driving is driving, and whilst track days are clearly different to the road you're still in full control of a ton of metal with very high energy potential, so you will have to adjust your driving based upon that. If it was competitive then that's different, but it's not. If you have limited experience with track driving, the car or the circuit, then you MUST drive accordingly. The Civic driver here did not, thus negligence was easily proven. No different to driving into the back of someone on the road, if you didn't leave enough space. It's a harsh lesson, but a pertinent one. As seasoned trackdayers, we've all accepted the risk before we go on track that sh*t happens, but even so if someone had been driving like a tit and crashed into me I'd personally be suing them for damages, as well as suing the TDO for not ensuring my safety (their disclaimers are worth f*ck all). If it was a genuine accident then no, I wouldn't do anything of the sort, but we've all been on days when there's been a couple of twits who are driving unsafely and that's why it's so important to report them ASAP. This appears to have been a genuine accident, but we must remember that it's Chaucer that have gone after the Civic owner and not the Cat driver. If they have managed to reclaim everything so are not out of pocket at all, then really I'd like to see the Cat driver go after them for his excess as they've suffered no loss now And my own little bit, just for this forum! It's a one-off case here, where one driver has admitted liability and then not hired a solicitor. Both of these have contributed to losing the case. In the PH thread, there's another case which was very similar and was thrown out, and remember that county courts do not set precedent. My own view is this: If you drive with common courtesy and common sense on track, you won't ever have a problem. Drive like a idiot, or say the wrong thing, and expect a world of pain.
  2. Did anyone else notice that the post-race room was a little devoid of passion this time? Vettel seemed incredibly uncomfortable with Horner there, and Alonso + Kimi basically blanked him. Alonso also barely had anything at all to say to Kimi, so I suspect their relationship next year is going to be interesting to say the least.
  3. Absolutely no downsides at all that i can see going from DE to HR. I've tracked back to back a DE revup ragtop and a HR coupe, and in every way that mattered the coupe was the better car. Lighter, quicker, hungrier for revs, better looking, the lot. Plus you can use 95RON, if you're a real tight-arse
  4. You just spent a few hundred quid on a new phone, and you're arguing over £2?

Personally I'd be replacing with something better. Even a penny whistle would be an improvement. Deffo get something else mate, unless you're returning to stock to sell.
  6. You're surprised? Nothing F1 does shocks me any more.
  7. Vettel is the most complete driver I've ever seen. Not as exciting or watchable as Senna or Lewis on a charge, but certainly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Schumacher for ruthless efficiency and the ability to get in a groove from the green light.
  8. Hardly the dealer's fault. If people won't do their homework, or want the security of main dealer sales plus a posh showroom, then that's up to them. It was the only one near you, so they must've had a captive market somewhat. That's not ripping people off, that's maximising opportunity.
  9. Speak to Dan @ Hollographics for custom vinyl stuff, he's done my LM stickers in previous years.
  10. They're better than nothing by a long way, and they are very easy to work with. However, as Ewan says they're not particularly durable and the quality of the finish will never match a solid wax, but then they're much cheaper so a good option if on a really really tight budget (if you were on a budget that tight though, you probably wouldn't be driving a Zed!). Each to their own, they have their place but I would personally never use them.
  11. As a daily driver, I prefer the Zed. As a weekend toy, I'd have the Stook in a heartbeat. Both amazing cars, and neither is a poor purchase.
  12. Oh dear god I can't stop playing this game someone help me
  13. Don't worry, his car will be fine: He only ever uses ultra virgin olive oil in it. And from Waitrose too, not Asda!
  14. I'm 33. I will never see that day in my lifetime, not if I live to 100.
  15. I believe I will never see a day when petrol/diesel cars are outsold by anything else.
  16. Quick wash takes about 45 mins as I always do the wheels, tyres and glass too, but a full-on clean with wax is usually around 4-5 hours.
  17. Heh, everyone I've spoken to so far has given Franklin a 'fro
  18. It's been a long time since I saw a post that ill-informed on here. Thanks!
  19. Rinse with hose TBM for cleaning using wash mitt & shampoo of your choice Rinse with open ended hose Dry using drying towel Very, very basic but that's the idea. By the way, TBM = Two Bucket Method, one bucket with your warm water & shampoo in, and one with cold clean water to rinse mitt before loading up with shampoo water again. One panel at a time, i.e. load mitt, clean bonnet, rinse mitt, load mitt, clean bumper, rinse mitt etc.
  20. I've no posted a single mission spoiler at all. Go check my posts I don't like seeing mission spoilers either as it would ruin the main plotline, but the side stuff is fair game I feel.
  21. Sounds about right. It is a massive OS update, after all. I like it. It seems a bit odd at first, but it's definitely more user-friendly than iOS6 was in terms of quick access to things. The only thing I'm not keen on is that the Phone screen seems to refresh itself after you've clicked on it but before it's usable, so that you see a name you want to call on your recent list and touch it, but by the time you get there it's refreshed to a different name. Odd, but not a deal breaker. You can argue over handset capability until you're blue in the face, but there's no doubting that iOS is still the best mobile OS available.
