Could be either. Why on earth the wheels weren't balanced is beyond me. They should ALWAYS be balanced if you're changing tyres, which I'm assuming you did if you went to larger wheels. -

Definitely shows how worthwhile track insurance can be, just a shame that it had to be proven this way. With regards to the ARBs, what settings are they on? And did Abbey re-do your geo while you were there to adjust for this? Given you have more than average adjustability now, you should be able to tune your car to how you want it to handle. -

Don't speed then. Or at least, don't speed in the obvious places where they're going to catch you and you get zero extra pleasure out of it.

No cruise control in yours then? That's what I use mine for more than anything, just chuck it on at 75mph and then you can fully concentrate on the road.

Read up on the smog tests, they can be a right PITA in California. Personally, I wouldn't dream of taking a Zed out there. Be much cheaper and easier to buy one out there, or even just use it as a chance to buy something more Yank-friendly (i.e. with a huge V8). -
I doubt you'll get anything, tbh. Ask yourself this though: Was it really worth doing just under 80mph with the risk that you'll get the three points, or would you rather just stick to 75mph on the speedo and never have to worry about points again?

Actually, I thought that the Maldonado punishment was about right: If the car hadn't flipped, and it was just bad luck that it did, then no-one would've said otherwise. It's more that Ricciardo's punishment was too harsh than anything.

And yet, I'm still going to have a moan. Last GP, Ricciardo drives 40m away from the pit box with a wheel not on properly. Gets a 10 place grid drop. This GP, Maldonado spears into the side of Gutierrez, flips the whole car over. Gets a 5 place grid drop. Really?

Just caught up as Jo was home late, but what an amazing race. How Lewis hung on in the end I've no idea, and watching Ricciardo take Vettel was superb.
