  1. Any updates Matt?
  2. Yeah, I'd go with that too.
  3. The HSD Dualtechs aren't full coilovers. That's going to be a bit oversteery as you're reducing the stagger. Your sizes are 3.64% smaller on the front, and 5.16% smaller on the rear, so I'd expect some TCS issues with those sizes.
  4. Matt, did you actually directly ask them if it was the revup/300bhp model?
  5. I'm still not sure it has. There is no such thing as a 350Z 300, it's just a term that we as owners use (what is the official term? Is it a revup? DE facelift? Z33.2? I don't know the internal naming convention) and the damning bit of evidence is the V5 itself. J17 have advertised and sold the exact car that's on the V5, it's just that the V5 isn't correct but that's not down to the dealer to sort. Hey, they may have bought it in thinking it was a revup model seeing as how that's what the V5 says! Given their history of selling Zeds I too would expect them to know the difference, but unless the OP specifically asked them if it was the 300bhp/revup model, have they actually done anything wrong? The OP viewed the car, was happy with both it and the price, and loved his car up until the point he realised he bought the normal DE. Absolute sympathy for the guy, and without the J17 history I may even give them the benefit of the doubt, and I'll be very interested to see what they come back with.
  6. I think you're giving J17 too much credit As owners and experts, we can instantly tell the difference. What I'm saying is that J17 haven't anywhere advertised the car as having 300bhp: They've simply stated it's a 350Z 300, which is exactly what it's recorded as on the V5. Those are the facts, and I'm not entirely sure that a court would rule in the OPs favour. I'm playing devil's advocate a bit here somewhat, but I'm also just following things to their logical conclusion a bit too. Would I kick up a stink? Yeah, you're damn right I would, but I'd do it politely at first. Maybe even go back in a bit dumb and just get them to confirm 100% that it's got 300bhp as some people on the internet said it didn't, that kind of thing.
  7. Ah yes, missed that because it wasn't the OP that posted it. However, I'm still not sure there's a case here. The V5 states the title of the car, and that's exactly what J17 put in their advert. Have they misrep'd the car? Well, possibly, but they're going to argue that they sold the car exactly as described on the DVLA system and nowhere have they said it has 300bhp or 300ps. I'm not saying it's not shady, but neither is it clear cut and a good lawyer could get them through.
  8. So what size are the tyres again? Are you planning on a full coilover conversion? Be aware of the issues regarding the rear mounts.
  9. No you don't (I don't work at a VW dealer). Your individual dealership may offer that service (why?!), but there's no legal framework that states that. Unless you have a copy of the advert, which states clearly that it was a 300 model, then you're on a hiding to nothing here unless the dealer has a sense of honour and integrity. It'd be your word against his in court, on the balance of probabilities. You may get lucky, but you may not.
  10. Where does the redline start on the rev counter? If it's 6500 it's a non-revup car, if it's 7000 then it's a revup car. Your car is very close to the cut off date for the revups.
  11. Does it have a tiger sticker under the bonnet?
  12. Sounds like standard UK non-GT model to me. Leather seats and Rays are easy to add.
  13. True, but then you're screwed if something happens during transit.
  14. What are the exact tyre sizes you're looking at? You could end up with a bigger arch gap.
  15. Leave it. Black plenum would kill the contrast, polished would take the attention, and it's well balanced with the silver covers.
  16. Daft question, but why are you putting the car into neutral? No idea on why it should stall though. Idle might want bringing up a touch, or a clean of the MAF couldn't hurt.
  17. Why?
  18. I tend to use the rule of dollars to pounds. Works out about that once you've put taxes and shipping on top, if you dosage anything then consider it a bonus.
  19. Ekona

    Average mph

It's worked out as an average, oddly! Should sit around 40mph if you do 50/50 urban/extra-urban driving. What do you think it should be?
  20. I just go for higher res pics then scale to suit the iPad.
  21. Google images. Seriously, that's what I use for mine.
  22. Do the flywheel as well. False economy not to, whether you choose to stick with OEM or give yourself an upgrade whilst you're there.
  23. As above, master or slave. Change both, labour is the expensive bit not the parts themselves.
  24. If I'm honest I do like the colour and the interior works well, but the outside is a mess of angles and lines that don't have any cohesion at all. Is there anything you can do about that bonnet gap too? As I always say though, as long as you're happy that's all that matters
