  1. ^^^This. I'd still have a Zed over a Z4M, but not necessarily because it's the better car. In every measurable way it's not, but for it's still got something that means I would choose it over the Bee-Em.
  2. In fairness to yours, I prefer your wheels I think, but literally that's it. The new one is a much more cohesive design, more OEM and less tuner. It's what Nissan should be doing, rather than try and emulate the aftermarket.
  3. That is a billion times better than the boxy monstrosity we currently have. Lines flow beautifully but with purpose, and those (assuming Recaro) seats work very well. Much better Nissan. Now bring it over here.
  4. I wonder if Newey would look at other ventures after RB, away from F1.
  5. Hate to say it Steve, but all that would've been stated in the contract before you agreed to the policy. AF may not be great in some respects, but you can't blame them for enforcing their contractural rights mate. A lot of that will be down to the insurers though: Don't forget Flux are just a broker.
  6. That's not why he was asking, profile is directly related to tyre width so if you had odd widths then you would definitely have issues.
  7. So you removed the weight, then put the weight back in and wondered why you can't feel any difference?! Yes, I can feel a 10.5kg loss from over the rear axle, but then I can feel a couple of psi drop in a tyre. The spare wheel weighs 12kg in my MR2, and I can feel a massive difference when that's out. If Johnny Drive-Softly did it and only ever pootled around, he'd probably not notice. If Larry Track-Day-Hero did it, I'd be amazed if he couldn't.
  8. If you'd like to explain how you've managed to get around the laws of physics, that would be great. I'm sure others would find it useful. If you mean that it's negligible in terms of affecting the handling, well maybe to you: Certainly I can feel it, and again why would want to remove weight from where you're trying to create traction?
  9. Mine jumped a fair bit, but that's because it's a second car with minimal NCB.
  10. In that case I've no idea what they do to it (maybe mapping, maybe physical mounting?) but it was wheezy and gutless and noisy. To be fair to the car though, the gearchange was pretty good and the seats were comfy if lacking in support.
  11. Very poor engine (we've had a couple of Mitsi cars with that lump in at work and it's horrible), cheap and nasty place to be inside, and it's a little bit ugly on the outside. Put it this way, I'd much rather have £7K worth of Focus than that.
  12. Mileage could easily be obtained from the MOT, so I'm not surprised that I've never been asked for proof. As much as I like getting involved in the nitty gritty of insurance, I'm not remotely worried about this at all. If I over run, then it'll be down to the track mileage. That said, if you over run by thousands of miles, I expect that might be harder to prove.
  13. Think I'd rather walk.
  14. Wide front arches are going to look silly if you don't have the rears done too, and then you'd need spacers or wheels to suit there too etc. This is a no-brainer in my eyes, you want the job done properly so just get new wheels. I can't believe they can't make a pair up to your specs.
  15. I've limited mileage policy on my MR2, although have never been asked to give a photo of the mileage. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not insured on track at all and so I do not expect my mileage limit to include track stuff. Assuming you can prove you did some track/drift events (easy), then I don't see it being a problem at all. Certainly you'd have no issues if they started playing silly buggers and you needed to go to the ombudsman.
  16. Turbocharged fwd cars scrabble for grip, hence scrabble wagon. Not my phrase, but it's an accurate description
  17. Makes no difference, good tyres are good tyres so go with the best you can afford So yeah, MPSS FTW.
  18. Which belongs to the wife, and which I don't like either
  19. Just hand the details to your insurer.
  20. Only sensible answer is to get new wheels. Anything else is a daft compromise. Depending on conversation previously with supplier, I'd be looking to return as not fit for purpose.
  21. Thanks chaps, I never know if these thing are as enjoyable to read as to write, I know I can waffle on a bit
  22. Wrong wheel drive scrabble wagon.
  23. Yeah, did a few Exodus ones, the sandpit was my favourite location in the summer. Man, they were the days.
  24. Keith Flint's nan used to live down my road, so met him a few times. Also Liam Howlett used to frequent the pub I worked in at the time, both him and his other half were really nice people If we're talking raves, we've got to mention Exodus. But only with the original crew, got full of muppets late on. Also... Snow! Spent a whole evening once with a mate trying to figure out the lyrics, with comedic results.
