  1. Sod. That. *awaits first Yank owners suing because the car crashed itself*
  2. We've already discussed those as looking retarded.
  3. Just goes to show that people are idiots. There are some things that replicas are absolutely fine for: Body kits, spoilers, gear knobs. Then there are some things you really, really don't want to be mucking around with: Brakes, seat belts, seats themselves. It's like buying a fake gun, and not being sure which end the bullet is going to come out of.
  4. I'm not kamikaze Okay, well maybe a little bit
  5. I take every post that says they hate me as a sign I'm doing something right
  6. Just did my old Zed, man that's being abused! Sept 11: 37K miles, Pass July 12: 56K miles, Fail, both front tyres cord exposed! Oct 13: 78K miles, Pass, both front tyres worn to legal limit Oct 14: 84K miles, Pass, brakes all round worn, rear tyres at legal limit My poor ol' Slagathor
  7. What I think it's worth and what it'll sell for are different things. It's already past the former...! Could go as high as £8K.
  8. You'd be better off running the 595s and getting used to them.
  9. They'll be fine, should be better than the 888s and they're no problem at all. It's standing water that stops these tyres working really, so as long as there's no puddles you'll be immense on them
  10. Good cars will, crap ones won't. Mk4 Supras are already stupid money, as are R34 GT-Rs. On the flip side, mk2 MR2 Turbos are peanuts and frightfully quick, and let's not even look at how cheap the billionty Inprezas are... The 90's also had an awful lot of dross, let's not forget that!
  11. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/41302-why-you-should-declare-your-mods/
  12. I wouldn't buy that one either, mileage is too low for my taste. Less than 2500 miles a year is asking for gremlins.
  13. My first MR2 is no longer MOT'd My first car is still alive though! Focus 1.8 diesel, 160K miles as of March this year!
  14. Depends. If you're a top assessor sent out to look at a car where the payout is likely to be £500K+, then I'm pretty sure you'll be going over the car with a finer tooth comb. If you turn up and the windows are tinted then you don't really need to look any further anyway.
  15. Honeywell FTW. Pick whatever one suits your needs, the 907 should be a good choice though. That said, I had a Drayton one in my last house as an emergency install as my one broke and the merchant's were closed and that's all B&Q had, but in fairness it was actually not a bad bit of kit.
  16. Hah, my first choice! Great taste you have there sir!
  17. If you don't declare your mods, you're an idiot. End of. Not declaring things like tinted windows and exhausts is the pinnacle of stupidity. You think an assessor won't check when they pop round to look at your car after you've ploughed into a Veyron or a bus stop full of kids and they're looking at ways of reclaiming their money? And don't even think about removing them if you crash, that's not going to work if you're in hospital with two broken legs is it? If you don't know you have mods, then you ask. Common sense up to a point of course (bulbs, wiper blades, tyres no; air filter, exhaust, gear knob yes), but for fussake don't give insurance companies a reason not to pay out. Why would you spend £400 a year and risk not being covered? Might as well not bother with insurance at all in that case...
  18. Why is SAG bad? Looks fine to me
  19. Basically, no. You need an aftermarket head unit really, if that's what you want to do.
  20. It does, that's the OEM BT module AFAIK, you can't play music through that at all, I'm guessing because it simply doesn't support the newer BT protocols. I've never had one personally though, but I believe that to be correct.
  21. How is the phone connected to the car? You say BT, but what hardware?
  22. There's an awful lot of MELs on the DVLA database at £799, which says to me that no-one's buying them at that price. Where did you see those ones, out of curiosity? Personally I'd chuck it on eBay and see what you get, I certainly wouldn't rely on selling it for the new one. Can you even put original registrations on retention? I don't know.
