  1. What I think it's worth and what it'll sell for are different things. It's already past the former...! Could go as high as £8K.
  2. You'd be better off running the 595s and getting used to them.
  3. They'll be fine, should be better than the 888s and they're no problem at all. It's standing water that stops these tyres working really, so as long as there's no puddles you'll be immense on them
  4. Good cars will, crap ones won't. Mk4 Supras are already stupid money, as are R34 GT-Rs. On the flip side, mk2 MR2 Turbos are peanuts and frightfully quick, and let's not even look at how cheap the billionty Inprezas are... The 90's also had an awful lot of dross, let's not forget that!
  5. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/41302-why-you-should-declare-your-mods/
  6. I wouldn't buy that one either, mileage is too low for my taste. Less than 2500 miles a year is asking for gremlins.
  7. My first MR2 is no longer MOT'd My first car is still alive though! Focus 1.8 diesel, 160K miles as of March this year!
  8. Depends. If you're a top assessor sent out to look at a car where the payout is likely to be £500K+, then I'm pretty sure you'll be going over the car with a finer tooth comb. If you turn up and the windows are tinted then you don't really need to look any further anyway.
  9. Honeywell FTW. Pick whatever one suits your needs, the 907 should be a good choice though. That said, I had a Drayton one in my last house as an emergency install as my one broke and the merchant's were closed and that's all B&Q had, but in fairness it was actually not a bad bit of kit.
  10. Hah, my first choice! Great taste you have there sir!
  11. If you don't declare your mods, you're an idiot. End of. Not declaring things like tinted windows and exhausts is the pinnacle of stupidity. You think an assessor won't check when they pop round to look at your car after you've ploughed into a Veyron or a bus stop full of kids and they're looking at ways of reclaiming their money? And don't even think about removing them if you crash, that's not going to work if you're in hospital with two broken legs is it? If you don't know you have mods, then you ask. Common sense up to a point of course (bulbs, wiper blades, tyres no; air filter, exhaust, gear knob yes), but for fussake don't give insurance companies a reason not to pay out. Why would you spend £400 a year and risk not being covered? Might as well not bother with insurance at all in that case...
  12. Why is SAG bad? Looks fine to me
  13. Basically, no. You need an aftermarket head unit really, if that's what you want to do.
  14. It does, that's the OEM BT module AFAIK, you can't play music through that at all, I'm guessing because it simply doesn't support the newer BT protocols. I've never had one personally though, but I believe that to be correct.
  15. How is the phone connected to the car? You say BT, but what hardware?
  16. There's an awful lot of MELs on the DVLA database at £799, which says to me that no-one's buying them at that price. Where did you see those ones, out of curiosity? Personally I'd chuck it on eBay and see what you get, I certainly wouldn't rely on selling it for the new one. Can you even put original registrations on retention? I don't know.

Really?!?! Well, that's me told then. I always wondered why people use those things, and I always snigger when I see folks using them at petrol stations. I can't say I've ever picked up a fuel pump handle and ever got covered in anything. I humbly apologise for mocking you, sir.

Nearly bought an RX8 last year, but couldn't trust the missus to remember to top it up with two-stroke!
  19. Please don't do JE5 4BBS, that just looks awful
  20. Be about £800 for the non-res version, or nearer £1K for the resonated one I reckon.
  21. Yup, no issues at all. Although I wouldn't tell them about the Uprev, as they may well claim that the extra power killed the clutch or associated bits. Best keep that one to yourself.
  22. Cheapest you'll probably get are the Design 911 'Designtek' range of exhausts, depending on whether you want valved or not. They're decent enough quality, not quick Milltek quality but good enough that I'd be happy with them.
