  1. It's an MMO shooter, like Destiny. If it were SP I'd have got it by now, but I'm an antisocial bastard.
  2. At least this time if it goes wrong you know you've got no comeback! Sounds like it could be a bargain, can't wait to see the pics
  3. Private sale, yeah? Can you not add it to your current insurance for the day?
  4. Hydro dip into what colour/style? If you like the white, keep the white.
  5. I give you Jetpilot and the Brexit thread. ;)
  6. Hmmm, I see where you're going but I'm not so sure they would have. The insurer would not be able to claim from the vandal as he did not do anything to them directly, so they do not have any cause for damages. It was a business risk, nothing more. I'm trying to think of a more general example than this, but I'm struggling tbh. Yob throws a brick through your window, you claim on the insurance, yob goes to court, insurance doesn't go after yob for damages. Floydbax is more on the money, I think.
  7. These will be a billionty times better than any of those engine damper things. I love my welded torque mounts in the MR2, although it does add a smidgen NVH...!
  8. Probably pointless making him pay much in the way of damages, as I doubt he's got the money in the first place. The repairs would've been covered by insurance anyway.
  9. Very true. You don't need a manufacturer service history though, any registered garage can service the car as long as they use OEM-quality parts. That's warranty though, which doesn't cover things like it suddenly being a Cat C or the engine going pop because it had no oil in it etc.
  10. Completely disagree. Losing *unsprung* kgs makes much more of a difference to the car than a few *sprung* kgs does. It massively affects the handling, braking and acceleration of the vehicle, and it's the single best place on the car to lose weight.
  11. Rays are better. Unless you want to spend silly money, they're pretty much as good as you'll get for wheels in terms of weight.
  12. True, but at least you have the (quite robust) law on your side then. Caveat emptor is significantly less forgiving!
  13. Bearing in mind you have zero comeback on a privately bought car, barring any misrep that occurred during the advertising/negotiation phase of the purchase. Not saying for one second that applies to Andy! It's just a more general rule to think of, and that private sales are not always the best.
  14. In fairness, as I've said before I personally would buy from them if the car and the price was right. However, I would get the car checked independently before purchase, with a fine tooth comb before collection, and EVERYTHING would be in writing, no matter how small. I would also make it perfectly clear to them that I'm aware of their reputation, and that a court date does not scare me at all. They cannot be completely useless as otherwise they simply wouldn't still be in business, and as always you only ever hear the bad things rather than the good. However, I would still approach with caution.

It's unusual to see a helpful post from you, it's easy to miss them. I consider my excessive use of sarcasm to be quite helpful, I'll have you know.
  16. I once had a guy ask me if I'd built my VXR220 myself!
  17. Erm... It's the second least forgiving layout! Great cars though, mine's a hoot to drive but then it does have a smidge more power and a bit less weight than a stock one.
  18. Depends on what they asked for. I wouldn't worry about other folks, focus on your own. Again, pinch of salt as we only have one side, but the email from Greg is fairly damning. I am surprised at this really, I know people have knocked him for his pre-sales patter at times but I've not heard of anyone with issues post-sale. He should know better than to promise something undeliverable.
  19. Alonso will stay the season I think, but no longer. Both him and Button are going to massively regret the last couple of years of their F1 careers.
  20. May last year???!!! Jeez man, just start a claim, that's ridiculous.
  21. I do have a bit of a mancrush on Webber, yeah I've tended to find qualy more exciting than some of the races in recent years, although with the mess of a format we're getting this year I'm not so sure that'll be the same. Ferrari will get the odd when when Merc **** it up, Rosberg will win the championship and Lewis will spend the whole season moaning, and McLaren will probably beat Manor. Maybe.
