  1. I made my own. Made with 25mm multistrand copper cable, cable lugs with a 6mm hole and some heat shrink sleeving. I will have to take a look a what material i have left but i might have enough cable to make up a few sets if anyone is interested. But like i said i will have to check first. # I`d give that try Can't really mentally justify a full kit but a simple couple of connections is more appealing.
  2. Yes that sounds like the fuel pump has a problem (could be blocked, not knackered). It should make a constant whine.
  3. Now that is a good idea! Are you sure you can tax a car twice? This looks like a good wheeze

    Different z

I've been meaning to post about this for a while, but havent got around to it... perhaps i should start a new thread so everyone sees it...! I always, without fail get between 300 and 315 miles out of a tank of fuel (approx 21mpg), doing a good mixture of town/country/motorway driving. BUT, last month, after also being sick of spending £90+ a week on petrol, i decided to start driving differently! I now drive a lot more fuel-conciously... i mean, now i hate having to put the brakes on! I stay on the speed limit, but then if going down hill or something, i'll drop into neutral, until my speed starts to dip. Also, when approaching traffic light or a queue of traffic, i'll slow down much further than before (mabye 50yds?), and then roll upto the back of the queue - keeping my speed at a level which means i wont have to come to a complete stop - as the queue should have started moving by the time i reach it. And my favourite - i now go around roundabouts much quicker! Instead of approaching fast, braking, and going round at a reasonable speed - i now approach at a medium speed, allowing me to see the traffic in advance, and then get round the roundabout without even putting my brakes on! It sounds daft but its more fun... im cornering harder!! So, all in all, i now get approx 400miles to a tank (approx 29mpg), my lowest being 399, my best being 413. Thats 25% more, or another way, about £80 a month for me! It sounds ridiculous, but its not - i was shocked! I drive like petrol is free and I get 30mpg Many years ago I came over a hill in my 260Z and found someone 'rolling up to the back of a queue', or in this case rolling up to a shut level crossing. Despite them being 300M away from the crossing, they were saving fuel and doing 5mph, just over the brow of the hill. Needless to say it was the end of their car and the end of my beloved 260Z. Slow does not always mean safe...
  5. Going into reverse when doing 69 can always be dangerous
  6. Nice one Phil - don't forget to modify his exhaust for a sweeter note
  7. Nope, I had the exhaust fitted for a month before the pop-charger. The first thing I noticed when giving it it's inaugural revving was a distinctive pop-pop-pop when the revs drop again.
  8. I disagree, my pop-charger does make my exhaust pop on the over-run Still no battery benefit though...
  9. Most of the 'art' you can buy in the local lakes shops is watercolour mountains and all very samey and twee. Shots such as these are a needed breath of fresh air and show much more of the real granduer. I say there is a market so go for it
  10. Yes, it really must have been minutes as no Zeds in that field. I looked very hard..
  11. I'm most disappointed. I found at the last minute I was going to be in the area (Gisland) so thought I would drop by. I turned up at Talkin Tarn at 1.20 (yes, it was raining pretty hard) but no-one was around I was looking forward to meeting a few other owners so was a little crushed Oh, and I was starving so was secretly hoping stan would have a spare bun...
  12. Being a puerile child at heart I found that the following made it much more fun Forname: I Have VD Surname: My Bum Smells
  13. yeah, have got and watched both series - very good! Our NZ friends are a bit puzzled as they don't understand why we would like a 'slacker' comedy (which it effectively is) but it's gently fun and the songs are often great
  14. I`m brokered through Adrian Flux and asked them to choose a company that didn't charge for mods Also, remember that the exhaust won't increase power and is cosmetic only. This shoudl keep the extra charge down if they insist on charging you (in theory).
  15. ESR kindly fitted one of these for me last Saturday. I`m still grinning :teeth: I can honestly say that they work and they work well. My car REALLY shifts now! This is the only mod that has made any appreciable difference to the cars acceleration. The pop-charger improved throttle response but the plenum spacer just makes it fly! When cruising the improved torque at lower revs makes driving effortless and smooth, plus, bizarrely enough, the mpg has started creeping up. I have no idea why as I`ve been hooning it around but the mpg has gotten better by 1 mpg ! For the cost, easily the best mod you can have IMO.
  16. +1 Ooh another post (er, do these post whore posts need to actually add to the thread in any way?)
  17. I think that was it, although I missed the c/f lip. But then again you (or whomever) did have a good look, you had obviously clocked my azure and did try to say hello but I was right behind you and you couldn't turn round far enough. I was in the tow of my young lady so was being frog-marched to the shop She thought your plate was quite rude, but then maybe she misunderstood it
  18. It took me long enough to twig - but was this you Martin (martinmac)? Car park in Conniston next to the tourist building.
  19. Fabulous Chilli Red in our for sale section now. Only a little over £14K and you aren't paying for fancy wheels which may not be to your taste. Lost of money left over for your own wheels and other mods - and red is such a rare and cool colour on the Z IMO.
  20. Pah! No more v-power here in the toon, I`ve had to switch to inferior 97 ron esso I can feel the hp ebbing away.... noooooo.......
