  1. I dont think its that expensive any more, IIRC that was the first time it happened in a GTR so likely the had to import all the parts etc. But its also not Nissans fault, its bloody EU and their regs that require it
  2. £200 for 2 seats? Wouldnt like to crash in that If you wait SpursMadDave has my old seats to use while he gets his retrimmed. Once his are done he will have them spare and I'm sure you could get them off him to have them trimmed. Will cost more but at least it will look very good and be safe!
  3. OK, maybe not the spangly one then Andy: I use the big ring quite a bit when blasting around the flatter parts down here, but dont think I'd really miss it. I think between 2x10 and 3x10 you dont actually lose many gears at all. Just need someone I actually know to give it a try in the real world, not some mag numpty who will just big up the latest tech
  4. Funnily enough I was hoping it was running 2 x 10 for that reason to see how people get on with it in the real world. I thought though that I could see 3 rings up front. I'd go with the more spangly white on the right
  5. That looks like it will be fun Is it running 3x10?
  6. Watching the vid, I can see which will be very nausea inducing
  7. Yes bought the camera seperately off eBay. Saves on paying duty on it then. Very easy to install, if you get it from Brian he includes instructions and settings for the headunit.
  8. Good to see someone with some experience backing up what we thought would happen. We decided not to go down that route for the exact reasons you mention. A big no no for me for an elected mod is that they will have access to things that are kept from the general membership for good reasons. Members approach us in confidence to help out with issues and whats to say a new mod wont go blabbing it to all and sundry? I'm sure they wouldnt but with them not being selected by the team we dont know that. And saying "well fire them after they step out of line" - well the damage would already be done. Which is basically what we do now non? The regional organisers could probably do with a refresh now and again, but you don't have to be a REO to sort a meet. Mostly. I will admit that some get brushed under the carpet because we dont want to air publicly why we dont want to take up an idea or someones offer. We do usually PM them in that case.
  9. Heres an offer for you then if want a social plugin for the site. Given we cant afford the time to do it personally, how about you all chip in and we get a pro web developer on contract to do the work for us? Shouldnt cost more than £200/day for a week or so. So get £1000-£2000 together and lets get it done. FWIW, if you want to pay me to do it, my current market rate is 2-3x that of a web developer, and I dread to think if I billed the club for the work how many thousands it would run into for the work myself and the other members of the team have put in. The social plugin was looked at by the team, and deemed that the ROI on it, plus the fact that it might just outright break or slow down the site, was just not worth it for what we gain. All mods to the site put extra strain on the server. At some point we need to beef up the hardware to cope. This costs us more to keep it running. So would you rather a new social plugin or nice things like free BBQs at Wales?
  10. As Mac says get back to the CCTV footage ASAP, as it may be overwritten in a day or so. Sorry to see that, its gutting people can do that damage these days and just drive off. IMO the law needs to be harsher on these kinds of incidents to protect people like yourself from potentially having to claim on insurance
  11. And with that .... lets lock the thread ... JUST KIDDING!
  12. Surely at that point you just lie? Why on earth would you tell the truth??!! +1 You just agree with them & after the test drive tell them its not the car for you This. I tell them I can buy it outright but would prefer to finance it. This is their dream as they know they can make the sale and also a bit extra on the finance
  13. Wonder how much he would fetch? not much Agreed Has his uses though
  14. This was actually considered multiple times and dismissed due to technical contraints. We liked the idea of having a 3rd level of mods who could do basic stuff but would have no say in the bigger team matters. The problem with this were (1) giving anyone mod access gives them access to the team areas and certain functions we cant lock down that we wouldnt want mini-mods to have access to and (2) we feel that mini-mods may then feel hard done by that they are part of the team, while not actually being part of the team. Like I say, we do actually consider a lot of ideas you guys chuck forwards, just there are many unforseen reasons why they dont always get implmented.
  15. I break it, Chris B fixes it, perfect synergy
  16. Yeah I'm not debating that at all. I just think that other people should be regularly considered to be part of the team People are considered to become part of the team as and when they present the traits that the team look for in a new moderator. Also for clarification, Admin are just Admin because they need the technical access to the site to fiddle with it. In the team structure everyone is at one level. Even though Chris B could pull rank and overrule us I cant think of any single instance when he has.
  17. I think he might be a bit preoccupied atm
  18. As I said earlier....we do not have a committe. Nor do we want one. We have discussed the managment structure and are happy as it is with a small tight knitt team
  19. And no one can kick him out - we've tried IMO the team works well for a reason, we very carefully select like minded people who we think will run the site the way the team want it to be run. Yes its good to have new fresh blood, but the site has lasted as long as it has because the team obviously steer it in a direction that the majority of the membership are happy with. If not then you would have all left. As Martin said, we are happy for new ideas, just put up a thread or PM the team. We have quite a few behind the scene organisers who are helping out with a range of stuff and have no recogniton or power on the site.
  20. Good luck with that one Actually think that rotating meet organisers could work as people lose interest in it and it would make way for fresh blood to organise some meets.
  21. Gratuitous pic whoring In place, bumper off: Bumper back on (w/ Nismo engine cover that Mr Tarmac also does!): Glad I got mine when Stillen were doing them free with the exhaust. Cracking intakes though, really look the business.
  22. We certainly have a few of them on here
