  1. Definately an on the road test guys. And the Zed should be towed with the rear wheels off the ground too as with them down it can damage the diff too I think. Applies forces to the diff it isnt desgned to take, it doesnt expect one wheel to be stationary when the other is turning
  2. Ooops didnt realise that. I think the proceedure is the same order, but not sure on where the bleed nipples are. It should all be in the service manual
  3. Couldnt agree more Colin, but its what the OP is after Zed is way more fun though
  4. A few times? Think its a bit more than that now isnt it? Just got the call that my car passed the MOT, stock cats ok @ 76k miles. Think Martin has been unlucky, but what a good excuse to get Berks
  5. Make sure he sticks to the right order, remind him 2 nipples per calliper, and not to let the fluid resevoir run dry. If he does all that, its easy as pie. Make sure you go to help out pumping the pedal and filling the resevoir with fluid and jobs a good un
  6. +1 - cheaper and easier just to get an M3. They have more power and torque and are in a region where FI or NA its going to cost you a lot of money to keep up. FI will get you to levels where you can beat them easily though
  7. never heard anyone run 20mm and suffer wheel bearing wear. Me either, and 5mm difference will make bugger all difference really. If you are that worried, dont run spacers or get wheels with the rigth offset
  8. Go for the 20mm Jerry! They are proven to be fine over many miles, so dont worry about it
  9. I assume you mean decrease? If you want to increase it just fill the car with lead, and put crap fuel in It would be handy to know what you are really trying to achive with the 0-100 time though. Reduce drag strip times, or generally make the car quicker? For either options, weight saving is a good start, but if you want it as a daily driver, you wont save much weight apart from removing the spare wheel and swapping out the seats for something lighter. Let us know what the goal is and we can help you out
  10. You didnt say which discs you have thought. EBC wont last doing trackdays, I managed to kill a set doing an airfield day, they're fast street discs, not meant for track days. DBAs if you have the 5k series would be ok, but the lower ones again arent designed for heavy track use, so you could kill them in a session, even if you warm them up and cool them down properly, they cant take the temperature or hammering of full out laps in a heavy car. Speak to Alex, but my guess would be a BBK starting at about £1800 for some ksport or more for AP racing etc. That or it might just be that you need some DBA 5k series which are meant for track work
  11. Yes they do, marks on side of the rotors, as in one of the pics here: http://www.dba.com.au/2006/products.asp Althought a bit late to check them now I would speak to someone with more experience like ZMANALEX, he'll give you the real reason as to how you destroyed the discs and what you need to do to avoid it - new driving style or BBK
  12. Do you mean DBA discs or EBC? If they are DBA you must have been very very hard on the discs If they are EBC, I'm not supprised, they are not track discs
  13. Was looking at spacers, but as ever, I have questions... i) Are these the system 4 or 6 ones, which are best?! ii) Are they suitable for use on track, or do they introduce extra stresses on hubs and whatnot? iii) Is there much to fitting them - I assumed they were just bolt on, then bolt wheels on top? iv) How much, CS?! the ones CS do are the best ones. Very quick and easy to install and require no removing of studs. And will be fine on track so long as they are installed properly. And put no real extra stress on the wheel bearing
  14. A little birdy tells me CS has a few pop chargers too so may have some bits, but not sure he'd have that Or try your local nut and bolt or machine place, I have a local one and they can find a solution for everything I guess you just need the strip of metal? Shouldnt be hard for someone to fabricate for you.
  15. If you've not seen Jerry's post in the other thread, then yeah you can come, but dont think they will let you in the car park, they are normally very anal about other cars attending at this venue. Can always park over the road. Would love a drive out in it, took one for a spin around Thruxton a few months back
  16. Cant wait for Forza 3, I reckon it will be excellent. Got NFS waiting to go but the missus is watching Eastenders
  17. I'll let you know for sure tomorrow. Mines going in for one. If it comes back with them complaining it kept stalling, they did it on the road - and didnt realise I had a lightweight flywheel
  18. Should be a road brake test Craig. Sure it says somewhere in the user manual
  19. Its the Varis Arising http://www.envyperformance.com/index.cf ... N=93026787 Glad I got mine when I did! Exchange rates must be very unfavourable atm
  20. If they are then they've gone up A LOT! They used to be around the £80 mark
