  1. Its been known for a long time that the std airbox (06+ especially) are the best intake for performance if you are running an NA stock-ish Zed. Remember, Nissan know their stuff, they know how much air the engine needs, and until you take it well out of its comfort zone (ie stroker kit or FI), the std box with performance filter will be the best bang for buck going. However the noise of the open filters is awesome, and once moving, I'm not convinced that the sealed airbox will give much better performance than enclosed as we saw in Andy's thread
  2. Could be tyres, could be shocks, could be geometry. I would sort the tyres first, then geometry leaving shocks as the last resort
  3. 1024*1024 is the max size supported. So depending on the orientation of the pic, resize it so the bigger side is 1024 and you have a nice big photo
  4. Even thought it takes less than an hour so can have it our, cleaned and reoiled by the time you have washed the car Pop charger is the best bang for buck. They do suffer from heat soak even with the heatshield. I think the shield could be improved and also there is room for some better airflow without cutting the bumper which I am investigating
  5. +1 - vinyl is about the best protection you can get for paint without leaving the car in the garage pink vinyl is it then, will go with my handbag Amanda will love you for that one
  6. +1 - I think the side badges need to be thicker to make them stick out the recess more, but the rear ones look excellent
  7. +1 - vinyl is about the best protection you can get for paint without leaving the car in the garage
  8. A good place should know exactly what you want Chris. But surely not Halfrauds? The one in Blasingsmoke isnt too bad actually, quite a few guys I know in there that know their stuff, but this isnt their stuff if you know what I mean If its a case of getting the right size and thats about it, then they'll get it right, but if you need a specific power or current then they might not realise
  9. Looks nice, but I'd be concerned over how bright they are now thought as it looks like non-LED ones
  10. Right, dragging up an old thread, but my car wouldnt start this morning and I think the battery has finally had it - not bad for a 53 plate! So when in Halfords what do I need to ask for? Can they find it looking it up on their computer? Or is it a case of finding one the same size as the OEM one? I havent a clue, so save me from buying the wrong one!!!
  11. Get an 07+ Zed and its fine then 03-06 are pants, just get used to it, nothing you can do
  12. Yes but not enough, unless you are an exceptionally good driver and they are pants, as he's only interested in straight line speed.
  13. Good work chap, sounds like you had an excellent outing! Hope the sponsors have deep pockets
  14. Good work buddy, thats a great result
  15. I remember phil mentioning that you shouldn't have them polished or powder coated too mate. Phil got it polished on my car though so it is possible It is possible to polish, but the hit rate is quite low, which is why he never offered it. He sent a few away, and some came back working, but some didnt. They couldnt work out why IIRC so didnt offer it as a service to customers. PC it, I dont know, but wouldnt expect the heat to play nicely with the electronics in the throttle.
  16. I opened my draw to find the keys to my Zed. Does that mean I can go out and have a drive?
  17. Bennett is to CS what M350ZB was to Phil Hope you get to put the phone down soon Mitz mate
  18. No I've got DBAs on the back anyway, but I reckon they've warped again. It's the 2nd set of disks that have gone, so reckon there's something else going on and wanted some old standard disks to bolt on whilst I work out what's happening.... Check the pad stops. I found when replacing my discs and pads last time what one of the pads was very tight due to some oxidation of the calliper where the paint had broken through. This might cause the pad to rub slightly all the time and cause areas where the disc is thinner which will cause it to pulse when you stop. This appears to be happening to mine, and thus may be getting them refurbed by someone like Alex, or a BBK upgrade (any excuse!).
  19. Nice work chap, thats one excellent pic
  20. Looking good - being pedantic, I'd delete the tree under the spoiler too. Spoils the lines of the car
  21. Nothing really to worry about, Stew and Alex had this before on rather spirited track sessions. If the dipstick isnt damaged, just clean it up and stick it back in, making sure its pushed all the way home
  22. Admiral generally do the best quotes for some reason, but do try Chris Knott. Search them on here, you get a club discount and the club get some commision back, and they also insure mods properly, unlike Admiral who wont cover them without a seperate "add-on" to the policy. Oh and moved to Insurance section
  23. Sorry thats not good enough. They left your car in a dangerous state and you have done a temporary fix. They need to fully redo the fluid, free of charge and as soon as is suitable for you. I'd give Nissan GB a call and see what they say about it. Low fluid level is dangerous and could have caused a serious accident
