Its because its so bright (mainly the sky), the camera is blowing the highlights trying to get an average exposure, losing the detail in the shadows as it does so, so the histogram wont show the problem. What Immy needs to do is under expose the photo on purpose to stop it being so bright, but depending on what camera she has that may or may not be possible. I noticed this in the last lot of pics too, and it can be quite hard to avoid on a point and shoot camera if there is no manual override. Let us know your camera Immy and I'll see what options it has
