  1. Yeah the RaceLogic videobox setup looks sweet with all the data logging on it too, and they have a few additional sensors I think for Gs etc, but its mucho money. Shame its not HD for the cost either, but then I guess the idea of it is for analysis, not showing off on TV or for your mates
  2. I assume you've approached RaceLogic? That would be the proper setup
  3. Nice one Alex, do let others know what the problem is for reference
  4. Yup, I got my usb dogcam from them too The benefit of the GoPro is its very compact in real life and gives exception quality for the cost. If you look at their proper HD cams and recorders you are looking at over £1k, whereas this is like £300
  5. Get an obard cam will you? I'm dying to see you race that Z of yours! I head those GoPro HD Hero's are very good, and have a nice wideangle lense and rollbar mount
  6. Good post Bennet. The only bit I would disagree with is the flywheel outlasting the clutch. Most reports I have had from several places is that the flywheel is normally pretty shot by the time the clutch needs changing and if not, it wont outlast another clutch so best to do it in one go. When I had mine done, the flywheel was in a worse condition than the clutch but then I was at 70k when I got it done. I guess the main problem is while the flywheel might be ok at clutch change, will it outlast another? As double the labour isnt worth it.
  7. Wow carbon doors - tres cool but very expensive I'm guessing? Certainly looks like a proper racer now. Take some power and weight saving to beat a GTiR though, those things are 4WD tin cans
  8. Fair enough bud, just didnt know if you were already with someone that covered mods like for like
  9. +1 - not so bad it will fall apart and break, but not on Audi levels of tactility and feel. Rattles are quite common but easily sorted with foam tape or silicone grease spray

  11. Theres always hammerite, worked a treat on my rusting bonnet dampers Just get them sprayed up before you install it so there is no rust and they will be protected. £5 for a can from Halfrauds, job done, forget about it
  12. I guess the other thing to weigh up is if you go with someone like Admiral, who dont insure your mods, but will cost about the same, is it not better to have some value back from the mods than none? Who are you with atm James, and do they cover mods fully?
  13. Get them to confirm what they are made of and what coating they use. If its stainless steel you'll be ok. Could always get them powercoated in this country?
  14. I think this should be stickied and everyone should have to watch it
  15. Catching up quite quickly to elsewhere arent we Am impressed with left foot accelerating, and I thought left foot braking was advanced
  16. Worst documented secret in the world, check out my speculation thread
  17. In the words of the great Hannibal - I love it when a plan comes together
  18. Doesnt mean she has to drive it! Whatever you do, get a woman on your insurance. Missus, mum, gradma, whatever. It brings it down massively. Reduced mine from about £880 to £600 by putting Amanda on it. Its insurnace 101 to add a lady to your insurance for young lads.
  19. ...with a tin opener I have a Dremel Here, Husky, here boy, come on we can give you a Targa im game We can post a how to when we're done I only have 4 metal cutting wheels though, I think I better go get some more...

  21. No cap placed on it yet, but as you will see from the numbers, it could be close. If everyone on the list was guarenteed to be coming, I think we'd be thinking of capping it, but due to the number of members that cant fully commit just yet, we have some breathing room For reference this thread has all the info you need viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31155
  22. Have to agree. The Zed is way more fun when you get some confidence! So kudos to you doing driver training. It really is horses for courses, the Boxster is a scalpel to the Zeds meat cleaver. Both are fun, in different ways, and what you consider to be better is very subjective, I find the Cayman a bit to clinical for me, its damn good at what it does, but the Zed is more of a brute, you have to work it more, and to me, that feeling is more rewarding.
  23. Inspiration comes in many forms, some inspire you to copy them, some tell you how not to do it
  24. Leave the lines then, stops the bumper being too smooth - if that makes sense
