  1. A lot of modern V8s can do this as its very easy to cycle just 4 cylinders and make it a 4 pot. I think a few of the big yank tanks do this. All F1 cars now do this too, apparently some of them can run on cycling even less cylinders I'm sure they said yesterday in qualifying.
  2. Not heard of any problems. TBH it will be the same as the HR engine 350z's and I've not heard problems with them either. Doesnt mean you've been not been unfortunate and got a bad sensor. So long as the dip stick says you have plenty of oil then its all good, just get them to replace it under warranty. Just keep an eye on the dipstick and around the engine for oil leaks.
  3. White roadster is a lovely combo No clunk for the 7AT I think the Zed gearbox can be a bit "manly" if you are used to more modern gearboxes which are very vague. It gives very definate feedback of engagement. Just think of it as a proper gearbox
  4. Not a fan of Mercs for some reason. Cant put a reason to it, just dont like them. Looking at an Alfa atm, got one for the evening/night on Wednesday
  5. Whoop whoop We're off for some Grizedale training tomorrow - although not really any hills around here
  6. Very good Dont forget to wax it
  7. Cant really go wrong with AG SRP. I'd first swap out EGP for Dodo Supernatural and then when you're out of AG SRP, give Dodo Lime Prime a go. As said above there is stuff more special, but Dodo is about the limit I put on a price for good wax and polish, after that its seriously diminishing returns for the cost.
  8. 370z definately uses no fuel as the real time gauge goes off the scale! Given the 350z isnt a whole lot different, I would say its the same
  9. A new rim and spokes for £200? I only paid 100 quid more for a pair of Stans Arch on Hope Pro IIs Still thats a good saving you've made for her bike
  10. You know what I mean Not after something amazing to drive, but something ok. My old Leon FR (old 1.8T) was a barge when it came to handling! Was quickish, but not in the leque of the Zed. Leons are a great car, but for the cost now, I think there might be better to be hand, hence why I asked. The Alfa looks a lot better, interior is better, so if the handling is beter, we have a winner
  11. All Fiat engines these days so no more issues on that side. See I've heard that this is the best Alfa for a long time going by the reviews. Will make my mind up when I drive it. Interior certainly seems up to scratch. The problem is the Leon FR is just as expensive as the Alfa! And going by my previus Leon FR and the missus Ibiza, they are great cars, but it takes all of 6 months before they rattle like mad. Which is fine when they are cheap, but not when they cost the same as an Alfa!! No good deals on atm with SEAT which is a shame as we would have probably got one already if they did. We thought we'd check out Alfa just to see what they are like because they arent any more expensive for what we are looking at. Not really after anything that drives well, thats what the 370 is for, this is more a nice daily driver that we can take the bikes out with as I will be car sharing with the missus soon so only running one car really. Want something thats fun to drive, but also confortable and good space for biking crap.
  12. Anyone got one or driven one? Looking at chopping in our Ibiza for something with a bit more space and performance. Was looking at things like new Astra, Leon FR, etc and went over to see one of these today. Very impressed with the dealership and salesman, much better service than Vauxhall and SEAT (with dealership in the same group as Alfa). We talked to the salesman for ages and had a really good look around, he took us outside to show us clean and dirty variants of the colours and took us through to the display room which faces the main road to show us one of them which is normally locked away, and also took us through to the workshop to show us various other colour and trim combos. Got a test drive booked in for Wednesday night, we get it after work and get to take it back in the morning. Bit more expensive than a SEAT, but seems to be better quality if not quite up to the performance. Looking at the 2.0JTDM. Oh and be impressed, there was a dirty one and he said it sparkles in the sun, but he wouldnt rub off the dirt as it would scratch it! HURRAH, someone who understands no to swirl paint
  13. Fran will be impressed

    Fuel Economy

Try adjusting the beam to point up a bit more. Lots of people find they are very low and once moved are significantly better. Saying that they still arent great compared to the 06+ lights. And yes fuel economy is very good for what it is. The missus workmate has just got an RS6 and was trying to show off how good it was until we got to fuel. He gets 15MPG on a normal commute of mixed A-roads and motorway with a bit of stop start driving in Reading The 370 gets about 28MPG on the same type of roads and its not even broken in yet
  15. What do they look like on the wheel Andy? As has been said, if the current ones looked stretched then 255 will be ok, if they look a bit bulbus then 235 will be ok. TE's will have a stamp on them as docwra said. Whip them off and let us know the size Also try GT4Zed (Bennet) as he has a contact that can get tyres.
  16. That would be my guess too I assume it is GT spec as it has cruise control. This means it will have SRM. Given its a private sale, that seems about the right price if wanting to shift it quickly.
  17. Try JWT* (star at the end) Just dont use it too often or you might break the server
  18. Bah I was close enough Very nice, bet thats fun for a Sunday drive
  19. Unless your name is GREEKMAN I will refer you all to Evo owners. If you dont fook the paint on your Evo Brembo's you aint driving hard enough IMO I wouldnt spray the callipers with hobby paint, only touch up stone chips. Not worth the heart ache if you ever blister the paint because of the heat. Brake fluid will destroy most paints, including that on callipers, but its neutralised with water, so if you ever get some on the callipers, just wash it off with plenty of water
  20. He's in Oz HFR: As Alex says, most likely cause is the rim has been refubished and cooked too hot which has weakened the rim. I havent heard of any stories of OEM wheels cracking bar those that have been refurbished. Out of interest, which ones do you have?
  21. Cool thanks guys and gals. Doesnt look like it makes much difference doing Sat or Sun, and sounds like grandstand isnt worth it. I'll flip a coin then
