  1. Didnt need Red Bull to give him wings Seriously hope he is ok, that would have hurt like buggery when he landed!
  2. Martinmac's American cousin, hangin out at the Heliport in NYC
  3. Official way to check the lambda sensors, ideally you'd use Consult (Abbey have this or Nissan dealer) or I think you can read them off OBDII. Dont know the operating range, but sure Mark@Abbey or perhaps Jez@Horsham will chip in. When the car is warm it should read a certain range of volts, if its borked then it will read high or low accordingly. Or see how cheap Alex/Lee have a spare pair going?
  4. Definately ring around. As there are quite a few shops about, I'd even look at getting a couple of local ones to get the bits and pieces in that I want and then if any dont make it on time, you can mix and match a few shops. Thats what a mate of mine had to do a couple of years ago with his presents for bridesmaids as no one shop had the bits he needed.
  5. Where do you live bud? In Basingstoke there are 2 stores that I know of that sell them, one is an actual Pandora store and another an inderpendant jewellers, so quite a few places out there. According to the website there are ~500 shops so you should be able to find something. Best thing I would say is decide what you want and get on to some shops. Most shops these days tend to do next day stock, so if you get onto them tomorrow they should be able to order them in for you. http://www.pandora.net/en-gb/stores
  6. Most likely cause is an impact on a square edge (pothole). This could, as already been said, cause the rim seal to break and cause a loud bang, deflate, but then reseal and leave some pressure in the tyre. However you should be able to see some damage to the sidewall. May not be obvious as it may be on the inner edge, but the tyre guy should have spotted it. I'd keep an eye on it as advised, make sure you feel around the inner side now and again to make sure it doesnt buldge. Sounds like you've been lucky
  7. Welcome to what every biker has known for years - now dont tell anyone I often get out on the bike (pedal and motor) or car early in the morning on a nice crisp morning, awesome going out uninterrupted by numpties that cant drive
  8. Dont have time to find myself goodies on ebay, let alone anyone else I'll have a quick peruse around over the weekend and see if I can find something. I'd say the Attack is quite weighty, I think over 30lbs, which probably isnt too bad for a 150mm travel bike, but depending on what you ride, you need to ask whether you need 150mm of travel. I have 120mm on the Stumpy and its more than enough, the advantage is it weighs in at a little under 27lbs which is nice and light for pedalling all over the place
  9. So are you looking more at pounding down hills than up and down? Gonna get Zoe to drive you to the top each time?
  10. As this is done to death I am going to lock this. I feel a few people may be trying to goad others into arguements. Look long and short of it is: Yes you can run different tyres No you shouldnt in the perfect world In the real world the decision is up to you. Many have run mismatched tyres and we have seen many accidents because of it. Many have run mismatched tyres and are happy with them. Many have switched from mismatched tyres and say the car handles like it never has before. IT IS YOUR DECISION - but dont come crying if you end up in a ditch. /end
  11. You should listen to her more, she is obviously very clever, she saved your Zed after all
  12. This is quickly getting more support than our own FB page
  13. I'm guessing because he gets them dead cheap from work
  14. If you want food you need to make it official Also the drive numbers will be limited shortly, so better to make it official and secure your place if you want to do the drive
  15. I think finally we are about on the same page. Now lets run before Dan gets here
  16. I think the pics of our bikes are in this thread I have a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp (say that when you're drunk!). But I've changed the wheels, bar, rear mech, and probably a few other things already
  17. Shimano is still Deore < SLX (replace LX) < XT < XTR Sram is X5 < X7 < X9 < X0 < XX Strangely XTR falls between X0 and XX, X9 is about the same as XT, X7 about the same as SLX I think. Those two you posted are for the WAP eBay and show up really small. Also dont know much about current Marins
  18. Its not about all out grip levels, its about how tyres behave in different circumstances. On a dry road, all tyres will behave very similarly, but wet grip and break away is completely different between tyres (in my experience). My personal preference would be to have tyres all having the same break away and maybe less overall grip than to put grippier tyres on the front (or rear) which have different and less predictable break away. This would give me more confidence in what I feel and percieve to be the tyres breaking traction and better overall control of the car.
  19. I have actually seen it all now, someone recommending buying cheaper, less grippy tyres so that all 4 match and the car is more "balanced", but wont stop or go round corners as quickly . Theres a vast difference between ditchfinders and Falkens though. I would whole heartedly recommend someone run 4 Falkens over 2 PZR and 2 Falkens, I've been there and the car was an arse to handle, even if it was just for a week or two until I had Falkens all round. I also said nothing about all out speed of the car, I said it had overall less grip. The feel of the car was greatly improved with the same tyres all round and thus confidence and cornering speed increased. I think from now on we will just have to lock all these tyre threads as we wont ever agree
