  1. I guess it was Clio to start with, but as these things go I quite like it - I certainly admire the thought and work put into it. The bonnet scoop looks really quite good in that first pic. I'll run for cover now
  2. Happy Birthday Chris Having bombaded you with queries today not realising it was your b/d, I'm ever so sorry mate, but enjoy your evening out away from the madhouse
  3. I wish - having had a partially detached retina repaired that's left me with much reduced vision in the left eye and needing glasses all the time now is not so good, especially for close work. On reading Mikes signature I thought I had double vision but as you have spotted it was not me doing the double thing
  4. Looking good as always Mike - a real credit to you and the pics really set it off - not surprised your sig is updated But, how many endless pads are you using
  5. Thanks for that now its all done The paint had fully dried and was not about to come off on its own - I know what you mean but whatever paint it was, it was well encrusted. Yeah, seen the supermarket washers in action- sponges/leathers dropped on the ground, no attempt to clean them as they go straight back to rubbing god knows what into the paintwork. For people who are either lazy or have absolutely no interest in cars and dare I say probably the car door bangers to boot
  6. We had also planned something similar, but must admit to looking at staying a fair bit further north around Ullapool or even Kylesku, (I have checked out some places to stay there), so that we can then get to the north coast to tour along to J O' Groats and back to the accommodation comfortably the following day. Currently waiting for Stew to let me know what he might be doing as it depends on Jaynes availability
  7. NO & YES: I can definitely confirm ....ing cats do scratch ZED bonnets as they slide down to jump off, or when they jump on they find the shiney surface means the claws come out for grip - seen it several times happen to my car and got the evidence left to prove it, hence I am no fan of them Just recently I witnessed several crows on the bonnet of a car bonnet parked outside Sainsburys at Epsom. They had dropped some food scraps from an overhanging tree that had got caught where the wipers sit - the scratches left on the bonnet of that car as they fought over the scraps were unbeliveable (it was a citreon) Needless to say I make sure we never park under trees there now, as the crows are always around. So Mark-uk, I reckon you are right about the magpies - is a car cover the answer - dislike those things myself, but if you can live with one.......
  8. There are passing spaces Nic and the great thing there is that you get good views ahead to see if you need to give way or the oncoming cars are giving way And yes, most move over when faced with the force of a convoy of ZEDS Many are clearly impressed seeing so many awesome cars coming by, so be ready to as they take your pic.
  9. Just spent most the morning cleaning someones cream paint off both sides of the wife's metallic dark grey Jazz Neither of us are owning up to who was driving at the time but I guess it was the usual paint pot off the back of a builders pick-up you often see in the road, but invariably dry. This time is was still wet. Only way I could remove the thousands of tiny paint spots along both sides of the car and the underside of its side skirts was by giving it a good soaking in Meths and then some heavy elbow work with a fairly coarse cloth re-soaked in the Meths. Needless to say I then had to repolish all the areas affected (Poorboys Black Haze) and re-detail the black plasticky bits. The wheel arches will just have to stay spattered and I will repolish the whole car again when I get time and add some wax. So bang went the idea of giving the ZED a clean today as I'm knackered and having spent all of Friday detailing my sons Cupra
  10. OK, we doing that after our evening meal - hmmmmmmmmm a nightime drive out
  11. I wonder where you got that idea from

  13. Brings back some great memories of the Hoon last year and really looking forward to this year's event - and the Applecross run is one of the highlights with some great roads that really do bring out the 's The hotel looks great - is it near Applecross? Couldn't check out your pics as I don't have your password
  14. That mitt sounds like it would be a good wrist strengthener I have being using the £5.80 version on this link - for nearly a year - its great and survived endless washing machine visits - far better than any Halfrauds products used previously http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/s ... mitts.html
  15. More like multiple slaps - mind you the number of us on here are that are getting slapped by Nixy will lessen the pain for each
  16. We share some good driving roads too - see pics about 2/3rds the way down on page 3 of this thread viewtopic.php?f=19&t=24148&start=30
  17. For me, the fact it is just RWD makes even more appealing Wonder if I can convince the other 'alf that would be good investment
  18. At least if you leave it you've got the option to remove it later if so decide
  19. +1 - well worth long drives to them too! In my case at least a 1500mile round trip to Scotland in Sept Well over 2000 for me last year and as we are planning to get to John O'Groats this year after the Hoon might well be a similar mileage with roads up there that are just a delight to drive and much of it great company from this forum
  20. June keeps giving me a ticking off as nearly every time she comes into the home office I have the site up on the screen rather than working Which means less money earned for her handbag collection But its a great place to be
  21. As you are a betting man, I say £20 that he does win a race, providing that is he does take part in all the remaining races this season. You up for that
  22. Must have a pop-up blocker because all I can see is the word 'worthless' Sorry AndyRigby to misuse your thread, I have started another one of myown on the problem
  23. OK, so to make this reply I open up the VIEW MORE SMILIES afresh and.choosing one that is not alongside the posting box........I get So its working this time And, no I haven't had a liquid lunch Be interested to hear if there are other besides Beavis and me having "issues" (I detest that politically correct twaddle these days, but I have to mind my p's and q's with the Local Government bods I have to deal with everyday, I'm even using it myself ) Ah.. back on the topic the smilies are still working (for now!)
  24. I can rarely get the additional smilies to go into posts of late - and I haven't got the smilies disabled - any clues why they have stopped migrating
  25. Welcome to the site and interested hear about your ZED project but .........................................................you know whats coming this thread is worthless without pics Can't seem to get the 'view more smilies' link to work (again), and before anyone says it, I haven't got the smilies turned off
