  1. on what car though? for a slow mechanic your looking at 12 hours work, if you have sonmeone whos had the engines out of several zeds and knows there way round well, maybe 6-8 hours labour. if he can do it in 4 hours i want him on my pit crew
  2. autotrader shows a few Crash damaged £3500 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p £6000 imports http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p all had just under or a lot under 80K on the clock. but do you see a pattern, non are UKGT spec, your looking at about 2-3 year wait until UK spec cars get to that price, and even then i reckon your looking at high milers.

not many about http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p could only find the one, originally i thought you meant the SLK 320's but there is an actual 32AMG
  5. we spoke via PM but as i said before i think paint is possibly the best way, a decent job should be hard wearing and last well
  6. Thanks! I ordered the stuff off ebay because it's cheap and my mate wants some crappy faux wood covered up in his Focus. I do think I've possibly got in over my head here though as I've never wrapped anything before. Also, I do really love the black carbon look Oh, btw - is it something that can be done within a day? If so, I could always drive down if I need you to sort it for me as it's not all that far from Norwich i was in norwich this weekend on a stag do yeah its only about an hour down the road. best to start in the middle of an itema nd work your way out from the centre. if you get an airbubble that won't push out, re lift it just enough to let it out then pull it back on, flat surfaces are easy, but curves will need heat. it allows the vinyl to mould better. also once you've set an area i always like to go back over with heat to reactivate the adhesive and make sure i get a good bond. drop me a pm if you need my phone number and i'l try and talk you through it.
  7. Di noc is good, but i'm now trialling out some new vinyl called hexxis i think you can get bits of it on ebay, but they only do the CF finish in black, i've got access to the entire colour range, happy to special order something for you and have it sent direct to your house from the supplier if you wish. i'm currently working on a centre console for a cstomer and should have one ready on exchange basis soon. just gettign some other jobs out of the way first, then i can focus on the centre console. let me know if you need any tips, or help, worst case scenario is it goes completely pete tong; then you can send it to me to re wrap it for you.
  8. might be worth starting with an aircon regas and go from there. set you back about £40-£60 and a cheap starting point, it might not cure your no temp control, but it should bring the very cold ability back online. my next step would be to look to try someone elses HVAC control unit. if you get control back then you need a new HVAC control box (thats the white box with the 3 dials on for heat control ) not sure how much they are but R35LEE shuld be able to sort you one out for a good price.
  9. how do you rate the jag on comfort and feel etc,
  10. so if i fit these to my alloys does this mean they cant nick my alloys, is that because you have to cable tie them to the brake caliper?
  11. lee should have a set but i cant; remember how much they are.
  12. i also have veilside b pillar decals if that helps
  13. the set i currently own; have been sanded back and painted black ready for hydro dipping or wrapping just in the process of sorting out the text part of them then i'll be ready to sell them. just its the middle of the GCSE season so my day job is also my evening job and night job at the moment with all the marking. but easter hols are 2 days away
  14. you are, i never did it in the end, but i could see how they came off, the set i have now have been purchased from R35LEE for wrapping and dipping purposes
  15. i reused the torx bolts, and never actually got round to taking the wheel off as i didn't have a big enough spanner
  16. yep the chemicals haven't had time to evaporate fully from the paint, it might have been hard to the touch on the surface but underneath possibly quiet soft. making it very easy to chip it and dent it. if he put 4 coats on top it might just have needed a longer curing time. might not be an applicator error as some paints can take over 2 weeks to go off properly. and alot of bodyshops will tell you not to drive it too much or at least keep your distance till the paint has fully cured.
  17. Sounds like a plan if I can't find a replacement. I'd want it as close to original as possible. Would you like to PM me the cost? Jim i haven't sat down and worked it out yet, got to source something for it, so until i know that cost i'm unsure. as for the finish i can get a brushed aluminium finish that should be pretty close if not better. and if you want other silver parts to be 100% identical i can always do those for you as well from what i remember the zed silver interior parts are a satin silver finish; i'll check my supplier and see what else i can find.
  18. i can wrap in different finishes, i have a set that i'm about to do soon, just sorting out the lettering issue at the moment. as for removal i did ut a while back and its not to bad but you need certain tools. there are i think 2 star drve bolts that remove the back of the steering wheel cover, these are just covers, so you can get to the air bag part, you need to remove that to then undo the main bolt holding the wheel on from there you can then get to 2 other fixings which would allow you to remove the steering remotes. this is from memory as i did it about 2 years ago so might be a little out with bolt locations. if i sort my current pair out you could use them as a transplant so fresh ones go in and you don't have to do it twice once you've repaired them.
  19. sorry just noticed the age; have you tried saga yet
