  1. i might even celebrate with a new pressure washer
  2. £80 for plugs what are they gold plated? i think i paid £60 for 8 sparks for my car last year; ebay is a good source for plugs, and i usually use NGK.
  3. its a good looking car wonder if hyundai will come out with any hot versions?
  4. only need bonnet adjustments if its a stillen SC setup as thats a top mounted screw setup. alot of the others are more like turbo setups with belt driven snail shells.
  5. they never say what bit they use, expensive meats usually use the best cuts. cheap reformed ham like richmond is usually the last scraps flayed off the bones and topped up with a fww other bits and bobs to keep it together. the give away is the term "reformed" usually in small letters above the big word "ham"
  6. plugs cost about £6.50 each full set of NGK's for about £46 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-350Z-3 ... 1e6d8a16f5 take the car to a good performance specialist and they'll charge you about £30-£50 an hour and it would be about 1 hours labour may be billed as 2 depending on how competant the fitter is and how well they know the car. Those ones above just an example, not sure if they are the right ones for the HR's
  7. thats a fair call, its difficult as its not an insurance job; if it was and it was within the costs i would have had it done, and if you'd lost confidence in the car then sell it on. but as your having to stump up the cash yourself for all repairs it makes it a hard call. if it were me, i'd probably repair for as little as i could then sell on after. i did with my old MR2 when i had a new engine put in, after that i didn't feel the same about the car; lost my trust in it. so i sold it on in the end. you have a big advantage that the car isn't currently graded as a Cat D or Cat C. so nothing will come up on the HPI.
  8. just realised Mike posted the same thing, but these guys do repairs as well. http://www.ecu-repairs.com/abs-ecus/
  9. Oh you are so so so wrong i used to think that, but as i've got to about 30, the porsche style has really grown on me. its an itch i'd like to scratch at some point. but i think i prefer the cayman style to the 911. but have to agree i do find the porsche interior a bit soulless, but very well put togehter.
  10. only if it was a member buying off here. and if it was an issue you could always ask a mod to remove the 2 threads; alot of people buy the car first then find the club. the amount of people who join the club first then buy the car are a minority. as long as its repaired well, it should still be saleable. you would be suprised at the amount of members cars that have probably had work done on them after an accident. but back when the cars were worth more insurace didn't write them off. looking at those pictures i've seen cars repaired and put back on the road with far worse damage.
  11. that might only need minor jig work. may not be as major as you think. it gets expensive if the chassis is twisted, but thats all at the front by the looks and should be a straight forward repair. get the garage to estimate it for you. they are the ones in the know and will tell you the cost.
  12. its a also not uncommon for the early zeds to actually read alot less than the book figure, there were several dyno days many years ago where alot of the early ones were very low.
  13. does this mean you're not coming to Marks le mans weekend? did you want me to come pick you up in the luxo barge? don't know what you are allowed to do etc? hope you mend quick
  14. don't sell it and get a replica. you've just bought a bumper that will fit with no issues, you'd be a fool to seel it for a cheap replica. this is my old one didn't smooth the reflectors out but i did do the badge.
  15. i know you wanted to learn how to fix stuff, but that looked a little bit of a jump in at the deep end
  16. front end of the engine is a gonna, but some of it might be salvageable. most likely a full new engine would be the easiest job. new air bags and rebuild the front end. personally i'd get one that hasn't been spanked into a tree
  17. No It's some sort off broken arm/stripped cog thingy which requires the dash out........8hours labour plus parts but once its done and the work is recorded in the service history, does it not make it an easy sell when you get bored? i've got similiar work on mine. got to do the timing chain tensioners, and its bang on the nose £1k worth of work. but i know when its done, its something buyers look for and will make it an easier sell.
  18. Bit like your posts then Wubs you too.
  19. walk away i saw an XK a while back with a flat battery, and they didn't knoe how to open the boot in order to charge it
  20. they'll be rubbing yes, but after seeing the beating someone elses tyres took from rubbing alot, its suprising how resiliant a tyre is. if i hadn't seen it with my own eye's i would agree with you neil. i'd be interested to know what the handling will be like on that, as the increase in road contact at the front has got to change the handling characteristics. that and the increase in unsprung weight.
  21. So even more bizarre that you spend so much time on here constantly reminding us! i stay around becuase i have friends here; the fact that you don't like me being here makes the pleasure of sticking around even greater
