  1. Well, the snow's here but I've not got any takers. Maybe next year!
  2. The cold weather's coming and I've not sold these yet if anyone's interested. I'm looking for about £75 for the pair or £40 for just the rears, but I'll take offers, especially if you're local and we can exchange in person (I'm near Cambridge)
  3. Hi Guys! These have been sitting in my garage for a while now. They’re no good to me any more unfortunately (sniff), so would anyone on here be interested? They have never been used as I had the use of another car last winter, and I only bought them last year. They are suitable for the Rays Alloys rim sizes (I forget exactly what they are), but they will fit any wheel that size (and probably similar sizes, but I offer no guarantees about that) If anyone wanted just the rears, I could keep hold of the fronts in case they fit my MX Is it ok to ask for offers or do I have to come up with a price? Delivery will depend on whatever method the buyer prefers For more info on autosocks here’s the website: http://www.autosock.co.uk/ And here’s the one where you can buy them: http://www.autosockdirect.co.uk/ p.s. I’ve never sold anything on here before so advice and hints on best payment methods would be good from anyone Here’s the picture: http://flic.kr/p/dCDJxF
  4. The labour plus the paint plus just the big bits that need replacing put it waaay out for me, and I really don't want to get into a situation where it spirals into a bigger and bigger bill as more things are discovered All I can do is try to sell it as it is and move on, unfortunately it seems what I can get for it won't even cover the brakes and tyres I've just put on it
  5. well, the decision has been made now. it's not worth repairing
  6. anyone interested in buying it as is?
  7. The garage reckon its fixable. It does look like the suspension turrets haven't moved. It seems a lot of people on here are now advising against fixing it, and I think that would be the easier option, but it would depend on how much I could get for it I don't really want a project that spirals out of control with costs and then at the end of it all I'm left with a car that's hardly worth the repair bill I was looking last night at some nice aftermarket lights, bumpers and bonnets, but it will mark the car out as an obvious frontender
  8. The picture is looking down on the left chassis rail, just as it passes the radiator
  9. It's annoying cos it's a low mileage UK model with FSH and I'm only the second owner, but it seems like repairing it might be a bad idea. Has anyone out there repaired a Z with this damage? I really need to make a decision pretty quick as the garage are continuing work on it today
  10. Tracking it isn't really my plan. This could be game over
  11. Have a look at these and tell me if I've really made a mess here: http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii6 ... ure824.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii6 ... ure823.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii6 ... ure821.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii6 ... ure828.jpg I was under the impression these bits were easy to change, but I'm starting to wonder.
  12. OK, here's an update. I'm pretty sure we can rule out tyre delamination. The tyre with the missing tread isn't the 225 backwards on the right, it's the front right in the correct position on the correct rim. The chunk of missing tread looks like it has been torn off by a bent piece of the front of the car. The melted track thing interests me. I was one of the first cars out after an hour long lunch break on what can probably be described as the only properly hot day this year so far. The fact that they resurfaced is intriguing. Sad fact is I crashed. I can try and blame it on a lot of things. It would be nice to know an exact cause so I can make sure it won't happen again, but as is always with these things, there are a lot of variables and they all start interacting very quickly as it goes wrong. If I ever do a track day again I will certainly be making sure I try and remove as many of them as possible. I've got a preliminary shopping list of parts. I will be contacting ZMANALEX to get his opinion, but any tips on places to get parts are appreciated. Especially lights, bonnet and bumper.
  13. Oh, and with a little bit of hindsight what I should have done is tried to get the car to snap over to the outside of the corner and run off the track there, there's about 200 meters of run off. Bedford, the safest track in the country Anyway, as an update I went to see the car at the garage yesterday and mentioned the tyre issue, without for a moment talking about any liability or things that would cause the crash, they went a bit quiet and kinda disappeared into a back room. I left it as "we'll talk on Wednesday" One of the guys reckoned at least one of the lights is saveable, which I think brings the car firmly into repair territory
  14. I kinda did ask the garage to prep the car for track work actually, they were fully aware that was what I was doing with the car when they fitted the brakes and tyres
  15. I'm gutted I changed the camera angle for this run. Earlier I had the camera mounted to the rear strut brace and you could see my steering input. I did try to steer out of it, I promise, I know it doesn't look like it in the vid. I couldn't understand why it wasnt correcting
