  1. Welcome! Nice motor, black Zeds are really growing on me. I think we need some photos of this S2000 as well, even if you're not making an official "for sale" thread.
  2. I’ve got a Whiteline rear subframe poly bush kit (W92994) for sale if you’re interested. Opened to check contents and never been on car.
  3. You might get away with 8 year old tyres over summer but it certainly makes life easier over winter and autumn in the wet to have a new set if you’re planning on using the car then. Ending up in a ditch once is enough for most people. Anyway before I risk sounding preachy, any of the top three makes of UHP tyres and you should be grand. As posted above I saved a lot buying the tyres online then just taking them somewhere to be fitted (preferably a trusted garage who won’t destroy the rims!).
  4. Those air boxes are a work of art! Reminds me of the gold reflective surfaces on satellites and spacecraft. And it’s not just for bling if there’s the smallest chance it could help performance, so all is good.
  5. I used to use this until I changed tyre brands on my daily car as it didn't seem to apply very well. Nobody on the detailing forums could offer an explanation, I thought it might be to do with different composition of all season tyres. I was happy with the results up until then. I'm using KKD Tyresol now on both my cars. I still have quite a lot left of this AutoGlym, I should give it another go on the Nissan. Made the mistake of overapplying a water based dressing to it last time and it went everywhere; which is the same reason I've been hesitant to try Perl. I've got similar products and I find them good for trim but a lot harder to manage/apply on tyres. Edit: in fact I tell a lie. I have no idea why I stopped using it. It was the water based tyre/trim dressing I stopped using.
  6. No airlines or travel companies will be around next year if the 14 day quarantine upon arrival to the UK is maintained (in my opinion... obviously). All airlines would prefer to hold onto customer cash as they all have limited liquidity. If they have £1bn in the bank then the majority of that or even more could not actually be theirs (negative net cash). If it was my holiday, I'd get a refund and look to reassess when we know what the outlook is. Having said that, the advice from airlines is to wait for them to contact you about the holiday being cancelled. They are working through date order and have limited call centre staff who are affected by social distancing measures. It could even be within a few weeks of the holiday but its better than holding on the phone for ages about a holiday in nine months time as its taking resources away from the people with holidays to be dealt with in nine days time. Hope this helps some people even if it's not what they want to hear. Full disclosure: I'm biased.
  7. Another nice looking car, really enjoyed your first thread. I'll be staying tuned to this one given the detailing aspect especially
  8. Thanks for the tips Ballistic, I'm gonna be a wimp and start with finishing pads and see if I need to work my way up the cut. Worst comes to worst I've got Scholl S20+ and their Honey Spider Pads which I'm assured should do the job. But I've heard all the rave reviews about the Koch compounds. Too many car related jobs at the moment, I don't know where to start!
  9. Nice work mate and nice colour combo. How was the marring with the regular clay? I usually use soft so was slightly concerned. I'll do a chemical decon beforehand. I've got swirls to get rid of, going to do some test patches and have a combination of pads. Will try Koch Chemie M3.02 so good to see you used something similar. First Jap car, so again, concerned about the soft paint.
  10. CTEK were about £65 on Amazon when I looked so I got a Noco Genius 5 for the same price just to be different. I'd consider the 10A one instead of 5A though as this can still take up to 12 hours for a full charge. That's unless you plan on leaving it plugged in.

    Boot Mat

How much posted? Failing that may be able to collect when this is all over on a work trip to Leeds.
  12. Thought I'd give my first major update since owning the Zed and keep Longsho7's list of work going. A few unfortunate Winter related incidents but all fixed now. The chip in the windscreen cracked all the way across so got another new one fitted through insurance. The battery then drained after two weeks of not driving it and given the age I replaced it like for like. The low voltage then threw up an EML to do with a camshaft position sensor so I replaced both exhaust ones with genuine Nissan parts (figured I'd have a spare that way if another one went). On a more positive note, P1 service and MOT is booked in at Japex for the end of the month and will include new gearbox and diff oil. Wheels will be getting refurbed (original colour) and four Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres are ready to go on at Mint Alloys in Silsoe. Then a four wheel alignment at JPS Motorsport in Bletchley. Looking ahead, I think I'll be investing in a trickle charger and a dashcam and hard wiring it in myself. Have also been looking at the Whiteline diff mounts. Maybe next year I'll look at coilovers, adjustable arms, uprated ARBs and a full suspension set up for street driving. Most of all I'll just see what comes up with the car for the near future. Also planning a machine polish myself and then have some Carbon Collective ceramic coating ready to go on. Changes/Mods/Replacements complete (in date order):
  13. Didn't know that about the gt4 version. Made me happier with my pick, thanks. Me too, have been meticulously checking the dipstick every week and wondering why it has barely gone down. Thanks for the info Ebized. This could be a great find, I've just shared it to a mate who's looking for a Zed, but of course I'm biased
  14. I agree so much with this statement! I think what separates the Zed from comparable cars on paper, for me, is the driving experience. Same with any car, maybe the same reason why I'd buy a Mazda 3 over an Astra for a daily (own neither - got a 13 yr old Volvo ). If I wanted a sub 4 second 0-60mph time then I'd get an A45 AMG on finance that I'd probably never pay off I've only had mine for four months so I hope to be here for a while, it's certainly a great entry into RWD, great sounding or dare I say faster cars.
  15. Got flashed by a blue 350Z with tinted headlights on the A507 just past Shefford. First one I’ve seen on the road while in mine so seeing if you’re on here. I was waving back in my Ultra Yellow
  16. That colour is absolutely popping! That's the reason I was looking for a blue one if I hadn't managed to get myself a yellow one. Hope to be making some washing/detailing posts myself in the future.
  17. Just joined this forum myself. I live in the area, I’m in an Ultra Yellow Zed so I’ll keep any eye out for you.
  18. Appreciated, welcome to see it any time pal if we don’t see each other at a car show down the road. Just to say a quick hello to everyone and introduce myself as the new owner. When I saw what a great car it was and how well it had been looked after, I knew I’d found the car for me quite early in my search. I love the colour and the fact that it’s limited edition. I hope to give it the same care as it has became accustomed to. As for future plans: 1) enjoy it, maybe more so when the weather dries up as this is my first performance car. 2) probably won’t do much to it as it wants for nothing and I like the mods which have been done. Maybe some forged black wheels again when the bank balance recovers. Cheers all
